We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Chesapeake Club. We liked the service. We loved the food. We loved the atmosphere. We hated having to leave.

Considering all the other positives of the resort we were surprised that the dining although picturesque was just ok. Most of the staff good some of the servers were not very personable.

I have enjoyed the Tides Inn for many, many years going back to when the business was family owned. I still enjoy the resort, however, the facility is really showing it's age. The place smells musty, the fabrics and paint look dated and the place just looks like it needs to be tended to. My recent meal at the Chesapeake... More

We spent last weekend at The Tides and had the opportunity to have cocktails, breakfast twice, and dinner at the Chesapeake Club. The ambiance was nice. The food fine but more in line with what you would expect at Red Lobster than a Four Diamond Resort Hotel. The service was more in line with what you would expect at Denny's.... More

Good menu and the food was very good, though the price seemed high. i.e. a dozen oysters on the half shell was $28! My filet for dinner was done just as I wanted for $39. Glass of nice red wine for $14 (Duckhorn)

The Scene: While staying at The Tides Inn, decided to have dinner inside of the inn's restaurant. The Experience: We made a reservation as it was recommended, but there was plenty of available seating when we arrived. Ordered some oysters on the half shell as an appetizer. Holy cow. My wife doesn't do raw oysters, but she took half of... More

I’m rating the Chesapeake Club at The Tides Inn, not the whole Inn itself. Had lunch here with my family on a lovely Monday afternoon. Well, it was hot by Virginia standards, but about normal for Florida, so it felt about right. I had the Crab and Avocado Grilled Cheese with the peanut soup. The peanut soup is excellent. I... More

Restaurant has indoor & outdoor seating overlooking a bay. We had lunch; entrees were $17. My husband had the plate of 2 cab cakes and they accommodated my request to combine a crabcake with oysters for the same price. They had burgers, salads, etc. We played a game of croquet on the adjacent lawn after - a very relaxing location.

The food at the Chesapeake Club, whichever room, is excellent. The oysters were fresh, plump and tasty. The filet mignon was perfectly prepared but the sides were limited. The crab cakes are chocked full of jumbo lump crabmeat with almost no filler. We would have preferred to have had a larger selection Virginia wines by the glass. The only negative... More
