Quaint setting. Good food.

We enjoyed a half sandwich and baked potato soup. Delicious flavored iced . Deli style service. Both were very good. Courteous, but not super friendly staff. Would visit again when in town.

The Local does indeed serve locals as well as the passing hotel guest from down the street. I had a wonderful, rich and moist carrot bran muffin that filled me up for several hours, along with a wonderful hot chocolate. My partner enjoyed a wonderful breakfast sandwich of egg and bacon on a croissant which was prepared in a panini... More

If you want to know everything that happens in this area, hang out at "The Local". The breakfast is adequate and the coffee hot. The most interesting thing about The Local is the "Local" gossip. I think this is where everyone comes before heading to the office and at lunch. It has a nice atmosphere and the folks are very... More

We had lunch at The Local during recent visits to Irvington, VA and found the food terrific, the people warm and friendly (a true neighborhood spot for 'locals' and tourists alike). A casual place to spend a few hours over morning paper and coffee or for lunch.

We discovered The Local while driving through the town of Irvington. It presents an appealing presence, beginning with the small courtyard with al fresco seating.Inside the place was busy with people at each of about 10 tables. Sandwiches, salads, various coffees are made available along with other beverages including wines. The sandwiches we ordered were delicious but took a bit... More

I'm a regular for breakfast or lunch. For a tiny, cute town this is it except for the more formal Tides Inn. Good sandwiches, soup, espresso drinks. Service can be spotty when busy.

We dropped in for a lunch and really enjoyed the quality of the salads and the ice cream. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the place had a great vibe...frequented by a crowd of both locals and travelers. I'd definitely make a stop at The Local during my next trip to Irvington and the Northern Neck.

Biked to The Local from Tides Inn for lunch. Read good reviews. Easy bike ride. Lunch was just okay, and I do not think it was much more reasonable than anything at the hotel. There small breakfast menu was much more reasonable than the hotel though. The ice cream, especially the espresso Oreo, was excellent! Service was slow but might... More

Let me start with the fact that I have been coming to The Local for many years. It was a nice little place to grab a sandwich with my children since it is not far from our river home. A few years ago, we started to see a decline in service and the quality of food was lackluster. This afternoon,... More

Very disappointed. We r doing a previsit @ Tides Inn for an upcoming conference and were looking for a few alternatives should people want to venture off the resort. My advice is stay on the resort where the staff is friendly & courteous, rather than the welcome @ The Local we received. You would think as a party of 5... More
