The scene: Looking for a cheap (and local) breakfast as an alternative to what was provided at the Tides Inn. The experience: A handful of locals milled about. Interior is quaint, inviting. They offer a selection of coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads. After drinking a lot of coffee lately, I opted to get some hot cider instead. The cider came out... More

Nice place for coffee light fare. Really nice. Too noisy inside. Best to sit outside if possible. Compressors from refrigeration equipment is noise source need to moved or compressors replaced with those from the 20th century.

This little bistro features a delightful menu combining local fare and traditional favorites. Try to cajole the owner into making some of her southern pimento cheese. It's the best you will ever eat!

Stopped in for a cup of coffee and breakfast sandwich - both delicious! It was quite busy, but the staff is efficient, friendly, and accurate. Beware - The coffee is quite strong! They have a few tables inside as well as a few outside. Also serve home made ice cream , which we didn't try. FYI - Open every day... More

Truly delicious mugs of coffee. If you like the mug, you can buy it. I did! Pretty, high-ceilinged bathroom, too. Friendly counter-help, but the manager (owner?) didn't seem to want to interact with the customers.

Went to The Local twice in one weekend. Great coffee spot and lots of innovative sandwiches. Nice atmosphere. Great for a lazy Sunday morning.

Nice little place for breakfast or lunch. We had lunch here, and my panini was delicious. My son wasn't thrilled with the strawberry jam on his PB&J and the "grilled cheese" is only warmed bread & cheese, but everyone ate their meal. An easy bike ride from The Tides Inn.

We ate breakfast here every morning when we were visiting the area; I regret that we didn't stay for lunch too! The food is fresh, filling, and good; the coffee excellent, the service friendly and efficient. The Local has an appealing charm without being self-consciously cute. And it's clear the staff have a fine rapport with the regulars.

My wife and I finished our morning run at the Local. Great coffee and breakfast sandwich (egg, sausage and cheese on fresh multigrain bread). Good muffins as well. Loved it.

During our stay at the Tides, we started every day here! It's a quick bike ride away. The coffee is good and the breakfast sandwiches are huge. It's amazing what all these girls are making on just a panini press. Their lunch menu is pretty big considering they don't have a kitchen. The patio is great for people watching.
