Great Food

the Trick Dog is a great place for an excellent dinner. The menu always has something new. Food is excellent. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There is an active bar crowd but a separate dining area allows a quiet dinner.

Sometimes you walk in with great anticipation using past memories of wonderful occasions with friends and family when an array of outstanding dishes become the benchmark for future dining experiences. Not so this time! Not so crunchy calamari which had pasta, olives and lettuce strips mixed in it but served without a dipping sauce such aioli which we normally come... More

The bar was pretty nice (and packed) - reasonable selection of cocktails, wine, etc. The food looked first rate (though I did not eat while I was there). This is a nice break if you feel you need a break from the ruralness of the area - this bar would look at place in most any major city.

This is a dark restaurant-could be cozy in the winter-with a large bar. It's a large cafe with extra rooms. The food was southern comfort food like chicken on waffles. Service was excellent but the food was just ok.

Mediocre at best. Our waitress was delightful, but the food was flavorless & presentation lacked for the price. Looked lovely, reviews seemed promising - had the tuna starter & pork shank w/homemade ravioli... Not much to say about either than bland. Again our service was nice.

We visited this restaurant with another couple last weekend. It's a very pleasant atmosphere and both the hostess and waitress were friendly. However the service was slow and the food was just OK. We each had a different entre, three off the menu and one special. The special was soft shell crabs and they were too small although properly prepared.... More

Great food, great bar and friendly people (especially the bartenders!) I eat here at least once a week and always enjoy the experience. The service is always as outstanding as the food!

Ambience with great food! We biked to Nate's Trick Dog Cafe from The Tides Inn. We had reserved a table for six and were immediately seated and taken care of. The 'dog' theme is apparent and fun. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Sadly no one had room for dessert...... A delightful dinner evening.

Really a find in a tiny town like Irvington. We've eaten here several times and the food is always great, but the service can be slooooooow. The bar seems to be a town hangout with lots of regulars. Worth a visit for interesting cuisine, beautifully presented.

Our waitress was great, friendly, and attentive. Service was a little slow but the food was good. My husband and I had the fresh rock fish, with the head on, fresh oyster shanghai, delicious spinach and arugula salad, and the seafood chowder. Everything was good. The decor was cool. It was like Asian fusion mixed with the 1980s with the... More
