Good food, mostly good service

Sam's is a short walk down the hill from the Main building and offers a nice variety of what I would call comfort food. the dishes are all somewhat familiar but have a little twist to make them interesting. We had kielbasa corn dog bites that were tasty, but larger than I expected. I had a... read more

We'd stop back next time come through town. This was solid food. Didn't realize it, but the Omni Homestead Hotel seems to have purchased this property - it's now a 'hotel restaurant'. But couldn't tell the difference. I'm happy we discovered this place...

I had read previous reviews about the staff being unfriendly and boy, they were right! I wondered if anyone there liked their job! I felt as though we were an inconvenience rather than a customer from the moment we came in the door. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. The atmosphere is very nice, an old tavern. There wasn't anything... More

Great atmosphere, slooooow service. Plus food okay. This restaurant used to be great but now so so , they need to up the service and food prep time to meet the cozy tavern needs. Not much for a younger diner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. We were pleasantly greeted and seated next to a nice warm fireplace, just what we needed on a cold night. Our children were welcomed as well, and offered a children's menu and coloring books. We really liked the Fish and Chips, and the Irish nachos were a big hit. Big portions, decent value. We... More

Really neat atmosphere, especially if you're a golf nut. Tons of cools stuff and pictures of Mr Snead & his incredible career. The food was really good too, fish & chips more than filled me up! Was really busy so ate at the bar.

Food on menu very overpriced for irish food (meatloaf, mac and cheese, grilled cheese). Bar atmosphere, understaffed, server was rushed, efood took 45 minutes to come out and was very cold. Server didn't ask how food was until after 20 minutes of food being served. Booth seats sat above the table which was very awkward urine eating (felt like I... More

We had dinner at the bar recently during our stay at the Homestead. The bartender was amazing and the food was tasty. There was a lot to like, here!
