Yes, it's pink and blue with lace and old dresses up on the walls. Yes, that is indeed a mounted deer head over the door to the restrooms. The decor is definitely grandma's attic. However the staff are friendly, accomodating to special requests, and the food was exactly what I expected for the reasonable prices. Yes, the french fries are... More

My family goes here a few times a year. When I'm there I usually get what ever the special is, I've never been disappointed. The meatloaf and seafood platter is particularly good. They also do homemade pies, just had coconut, it was great. They're always advertising peanut butter pie, but its always sold out... Can't wait to try it.

This was an old-time style diner/café, where I suspect the locals eat lunch many days. Daily specials, the usual array of sandwiches (tuna salad, BLT, etc) and salads. There's a daily hot special (such as meatloaf, BBQ). Good prices - my meal with tea was $11.

My wife and I stopped by for breakfast while in Hopewell and we both enjoyed our meal. My wife had pancakes and sausage and she was very pleased. I had the western omelet with hash browns and one of the two sausages that my wife had. I must say the omelet was one of the best I have had in... More

Vacationing with friends and had visited the Berkeley Plantation and were hungry for some lunch. While originally looking for another restaurant, we stumbled upon Carter's and while empty (around 2P in the afternoon) we decided to try it as we saw fried chicken on the menu. Three of the 4 of us had the friend chicken and it was very... More

If you go for breakfast, chances are it will be ok. But, as a previous reviewer stated, its pretty hard to screw up breakfast. Anything after that is a real roll of the dice, and more often than not, its just bad. You wait a long time for supposed home made food which most of the time couldn't be father... More

If you are watching your figure this is not the place for you. I had what they call a female Ruben. Grilled Rachel instead of sour sauerkraut you have cole slaw, four layers of cornbeef, on rye bread my side I chose was macaroni salad. But you could have fries, pasta, onion rings etc. It looked like all the business... More

I have had breakfast here a couple of times. It's kinda hard to screw up bacon and scrambled eggs. Had dinner there 1 time. Trust me, go somewhere else

I went there for lunch today and was terribly disappointed; I truly wanted it to be cute and good and fun so that I'd have a new place nearby. Alas, it was none of the above. The place is "decorated" with way too much junk and no apparent theme. The ceiling is navy, the walls are dark wine, the chairs... More

My wife and I really enjoy Courthouse Cafe! Went to school with Betty and was surprised to run into her there the second time I went. From the first visit, was impressed with how they treat their customers. They make you feel almost like family. Their food is great and if it's not on the menu, they might still have... More
