Still Very Good After 15+ Years

My wife and I had our first date here more than 15 years ago - we enjoyed the food, the wine, and the Italian feel of the Cantina. It was and still is very pleasant place to dine. The prices for food and wine are surprisingly low especially since the quality is so high. We have eaten here at... read more

With the closing of Macaroni Grill and Primo Italiano the number of Italian sources has declined for reasonably priced options for dine in or carry out in Reston. Carabas restaurant has responded by raising prices and cutting out favored dishes.. We have dined with Catinia D'italia when we lived near Annapolis, but that location has closed. The Herndon location has... More

I went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We had a party of 40 which is a lot to fit into this location but we had reservations in months early. They were well prepared and we never waited on drinks and our food came out rather quick for the circumstances. I got my food within 30 minutes and my drink... More

I've been here many times and heard of it from a former co-worker. Generous portions, good price and they have even accommodated custom orders from family members!

We went in for a special occasion and for a Chiefs choice style meal. Jason, the owner is top notch, we guided us though the entire meal. He asked for any limitations or special needs and then we began our adventure. Started with Calamari and Tomato/mozzarella salad. Jason recommended some reasonable priced wines to start. Next course was 3 different... More

This little Italian restaurant is located in a little strip shopping center that includes an Outback Steakhouse. I came dangerously close to getting a steak instead, thankfully I went Italian. The host (Jason, I think), could not have been more helpful. Sat me right down, made some suggestions, and even took my order before the regular server could come over.... More

This is a big favorite of ours, especially since recently discovering Clams Caprese in white wine, parsley, lemon, garlic and olive oil, which pairs beautifully with garlic bread (no cheese). Their house salad is so fresh and delicious. Pasta dishes we've had are all excellent and plentiful (though lunch preferred for our appetities/dinner portions too big). Staff are lovely/good. They... Don't understand the good reviews. We did not like it the first time but gave it a second chance. The food is below average. The veal parm was average but the tomato sauce ruined it. Way too strong and it drowns out the veal. My wife's manicotti was not very good at all. Previously I tried the chicken parm. It... More

We have dined at Cantina D'italia many times over the years. Our latest was the third week in November. We can count on this restaurant for very good food, excellent service and large portions. We never seem to be able to finish a whole entrée at a seating which is just fine as we always have wonderful leftovers later in... More
