Oh my.. where to start? The seafood platter and/or fried oysters were average in prep, presentation and taste. The prices were eye popping. Wow and to think I could have had a house salad for only $4.50 more to add to the pleasure of the frozen french fries. I didn't mind the animal heads or the very out of date... More

We enjoyed a delicious dinner (I had the crab cake; he had the seafood platter) and amazing service. This place has a long history and it is still family-owned. It was a refreshingly warm and hospitable atmosphere and the meals were a great value. It is perfectly located on US 11 (just off I-81) 11 miles north of Harrisonburg.

We visited Blue Stone Inn with great expectations. Having dined there years ago, on numerous occasions, we were quite excited to be visiting once again. How quickly our excitement turned to utter disappointment. We were greeted with a surly, unhappy waitress, whose sulkiness never lifted despite our best efforts at pleasantries. We had to beg for extra napkins and water... More

Dear Past Its' Prime, I am terribly sorry your group had such a dreadful experience at our restaurant. I was the dining room manager that night, and as I recall, you ate fairly early in the evening at the large round table in the back of the room. My most sincere apologies for your server's attitude; all of the staff... More

I have been here 3-4 times. I have never been disappointed. Their prime rib is good, and the seafood is worth trying. Don't let the old school exterior deter you from trying this place at least once. We have always received great service and would gladly go again. Very easy to find, from I-81 Mauzy exit head south on Rte-11,... More

We visited The Blue Stone Inn for dinner. It was smaller than we thought from pictures and quite busy this Saturday night but they had us a table in no time at all. We found the lodge decor charming. The service was friendly but not always accurate. There was an error in our drink and food orders but we took... More

First heard about this place years ago and enjoyed it and then moved away....when we returned we came back and now we come regularly! Family operated, decor is vintage. Serve authentic real food cooked in their kitchen with specials daily! Generous portions, interesting sides, fresh salads and friendly service. Fun, rustic and delicious! Check it out....you may have to wait... More

My husband and I went here for our 31st anniversary and were delighted. It is rustic but the food was excellent. Highly recommend the french onion and cream of asparagus soups, duck and the Shellfish Combo. They have a good variety of side dishes which were not the standards you see at many restaurants and the hushpuppies they served before... More

Historic restaurant; built in 1920; run by one family for last 60 years. Varied menu of steaks and seafood, trout, crab, catfish. Homemade soups; small portions menu (which were still generous). Quaint dining room, good service. Our only regret was not having room for dessert!

Cozy, rustic and authentic - skip the chains, eat here in instead of Harrisonburg. Simple, well prepared. Great service.

We met some friends here tonight. Very good service, nice atmosphere. Yeah sorta dated with all the animal heads, but the food & service are the best around. Dishes we had... Stuffed trout, oysters, mako shark. All very good. The sides were terrific. The desserts were exceptional... Hummingbird cake, lemon berry cake. We stay away from chains and are always... More
