Seafood to die for

Blue Stone Inn has been an institution in the Harrisonburg area for generations. One visit there and you will see why. The seafood is awesome and the steaks are great. A warm friendly atmosphere and great service are their hallmarks. I would highly recommend.

This meal at Blue Stone was a disappointing one...an unusual experience for us. One had to really look carefully to see any oyster in each small piece...somewhat like eating fried bread crumbs. The shrimp dinner, clam chowder and sides were very good, nicely prepared and spiced. We did not say anything because it was a special occasion with an elderly... More

Like this place and it is worth the drive. Food was very good as was the service. I even caught a groundhog with the piece of cantaloupe Tanya boxed up for us to take home.

We visited this restaurant years ago when trout was served a variety of ways and was delicious. The menu has changed drastically and, while there is a variety of fish, there is certainly nothing exciting. My husband and I had the crabcakes, which were crab and not much filler but, for the price, were inadequate in quality..no lump crab to... More

This restaurant is a Valley tradition. The food is freshly prepared and very good. But, there are a few problems. Our hostess/server needs to take a course in how to treat customers if you want them to come back. Never a smile. Obviously displeased to have to come back twice to get all of our orders (group of 4). Several... More

Dear DOR816, Thank you for taking the time to review us, and I appreciate the kind words about the freshness and tastiness of our food. I agree with your assessment of the cole slaw, and it will be modified! I am very sorry that your dinner experience was dampened by your server; I will print and have all of our... More

We had the best food and service at this quaint local place. Hoping to come back to the area just to eat here.

The fact this place is now operated buy third generation should tell you it is a good place. Food is about the freshest we've had anywhere. Even diner salads tasted like they were freshly put together. This means the service may seem a little slow but for the freshness, it is worth it. I had a Ribeye that was cooked... More

Oh my.. where to start? The seafood platter and/or fried oysters were average in prep, presentation and taste. The prices were eye popping. Wow and to think I could have had a house salad for only $4.50 more to add to the pleasure of the frozen french fries. I didn't mind the animal heads or the very out of date... More

We enjoyed a delicious dinner (I had the crab cake; he had the seafood platter) and amazing service. This place has a long history and it is still family-owned. It was a refreshingly warm and hospitable atmosphere and the meals were a great value. It is perfectly located on US 11 (just off I-81) 11 miles north of Harrisonburg.

We visited Blue Stone Inn with great expectations. Having dined there years ago, on numerous occasions, we were quite excited to be visiting once again. How quickly our excitement turned to utter disappointment. We were greeted with a surly, unhappy waitress, whose sulkiness never lifted despite our best efforts at pleasantries. We had to beg for extra napkins and water... More

Dear Past Its' Prime, I am terribly sorry your group had such a dreadful experience at our restaurant. I was the dining room manager that night, and as I recall, you ate fairly early in the evening at the large round table in the back of the room. My most sincere apologies for your server's attitude; all of the staff... More
