Description: Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Executive Chef Mark Newsome's philosophy of cooking is to present these wonderful products in a fashion that allows their natural goodness to shine through. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.

Once upon a time I would have gladly paid the high prices for the amazing food and service this place was known for-top notch. The chef is over reaching a bit and the service is disappointing. We paid $250 for a mediocre experience. My advice go to the chop house for less money, great food And great service. Sad to... More

One of the best meals ever! I started with the Semolina Crusted Oysters and chose the House-Made Pappardelle Pasta as my entree. Both were incredibly delicious, so much so that I would get them again if I'm lucky enough to return to the Harrisonburg area. My only regret is that I was too full to try any of the dessert... More

You won't be disappointed if you have dinner here. Every detail was just perfect. We had the filet and also scallops. Very tasty. Amazing pear salad. Incredible desserts.

I like this place. The food is reliably good quality.Though it is a bit spendy for a weekly favorite; during the summer they have a great happy hour deal during the week. The staff is always knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. A nice outdoor courtyard when the weather is pleasant. One of few locations in Harrisonburg for a fine dining atmosphere.... More

We went during the New Year's Eve promotion where you got 6 courses (2 were tiny) for $80 per person or $120 per person with wine pairings. We went with another couple and it worked out that everyone got something different so we all were able to try everything. And everything was absolutely awesome. The wine pairings were perfect and... This is a first rate restaurant by any standards, and in our view the best in Harrisonburg. Definitely a "special event" dinner place.

The food was excellent and the service impeccable. If you have time have a drink in the bar. The bartender was personable and made the best Whiskey Sour I've had in many years. The Martini was also top notch. I had the Duck as my entre' - it was perfect (Ask for additional sauce). The appetizers were the right size... More

Every time we are in Harrisonburg, we make sure that we go the the Joshua Wilton House. Very elegant to walk in and see the high ceilings and lovely furniture however, the food is always the best meal we have while in Harrisonburg. The last time we ate there I had the fettuccine with 2 different kinds of mushrooms and... More

We ate at the Joshua Wilton House during a recent stay. The dining was very, very good, and better than many meals that we have paid far more for. Appetizer, salad, entrée and desert were all first rate. The only small issue that I had was that the Filet I ordered needed a steak knife, as the standard knife "squish"... More

I have been visiting my daughter in college at JMU for the past four years an have been very disappointed that there were no upscale places to eat. It's a shame I just found the Joshua Wilton House now after all this time, but then again we still have a year to continue enjoying it. The Bed and Breakfast is... More
