Beer Lovers Haven!

I don't drink beer, but I was so wishing my sons were with me, as they do love beer! I've never seen so many pages of choices! We ordered the prime rib sandwiches, and they were very good. Parking seemed to be an issue, as the restaurant is located right across the street from the court house... read more

On our front desk man's recommendation we tried this restaurant recently while we were in town for a wedding. We both had the salmon special. It was excellent. They have an interesting menu. My husband almost ordered the mussels because they sounded great. Our waiter was very good and was enthusiastic about the food. Cool place!

Reminded me a pricey fast food restaurant. Ordinary food and ordinary service for a downtown restaurant. From what I heard I expected so much more.

First time to the ale house. Always loved the location and decor but wasn't Calhoon's. Service was ok, food was ok and enjoyed the one man band as my great grandson of 22 months danced for the bar crowd with standing ovation. He was the best part of the evening. Outdoor patio os nice in the evenings!

Stopped by the Alehouse about 4pm on a Saturday and stumbled upon Happy Hour, which included $2 off draft beers. The bar has 108 craft beers on tap, including Three Brothers Brewery of Harrisonburg selections. My wife and I shared the Hoptimizer and The Admiral and were impressed by these two IPA's. We also had the Smokehouse chicken sandwich and... More

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday after shopping at Green Valley Book Fair. Nice umbrella shaded rooftop patio, attractive food presentations (salads and sandwiches) and extensive beer selection.

This looked like a good place to eat. It was a slow with only two other tables full. The service was poor. Our waiter checked on us once during our time there. He didn't even deliver our food. Given how slow it was, I expecting good service. I will give him this...he was knowledgeable concerning the vast beer selection the... More

Good pub fare, wide variety of beers on tap, and good service made it a nice dinner out. The pub pretzel was good.

The Ale House was a great meal on our last night in Harrisonburg. The kiddos and adults all enjoyed their meals and the environment. The service was great too! We will make another visit when back in town.

My friends and I are here most Fridays. They have a great variety and selection of beer and often have special beer available. We love "Ales from the Crypt" weekends. The food is not amazing but not bad. I think it is a little pricey. In all the tine we have been going, we've had great waiters and waitresses except... More
