Best steaks and food in Harrisonburg hands down. Creative local ingredient combinations with some international sauces, rubs and flair. Very good seafood. We have eaten there at least a dozen times and have never had a bad meal. Solid beer and wine list and some interesting libations in the pub. In fact if they are too busy to seat you... More

Chop House has a nice diverse menu of local foods. Steaks, chops, chicken, fish.... are raised in area. Produce the same, so meals are always fresh. Outdoor patio dining a plus during warmer months. Bar area is a good meeting spot for drinks and theres usually a band playing weekends during the summer.

So good that I went here twice during my week-long business trip. I had both the Trout Filets and U10 Scallops for entrees, and they were both wonderful. For my sides I had smashed potatoes, grits with housemade bacon, and chevre mac n cheese. Yes, I am an fan of the "carbs" and they were all awesome! Friendly service, nice... More

A colleague and I were both in town for meetings last week. I was running late so she decided to find a restaurant for us. I've stayed in Harrisonburg several times and never ventured past Chili's or the chain restaurants - boy what a mistake! Not that there is anything wrong with them, but I was missing out on a... Daughter/husband took us there for dinner. Well worth the 65 mile drive for us. Upscale menu/pricing for the town ... but very good dining ! Filets/ribeyes/seared scallops were excellent. Sides were unusual ... local vegetables in unusual combinations. Squash/mushroom/Swiss cheese casserole, wilted spinach w/ham and even duck-fat fries. Very good wine selection and dessert offerings. Can understand why it's rated... More

My husband & I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary yesterday. We wanted to find a nice local restaurant to celebrate, my husband found Local Chop and Grill House on Tripadvisor, so glad he did! For appetizer I ordered scallops (were like butter), my husband got chili which had shredded steak. Our entrees I had trout, he had filet. Side dishes,... More

The was a great place for a wonderful dinner with friends. It is more expensive so expect "fine" dinning but everything we ate was well prepared. The atmosphere was nice and the wait staff was very good. I don't think my water glass ever made past being half empty. As well, the waiter was sensitive to our time as we... More

This really was one of the best meals I have ever had. I had trout and my husband had duck. They locally source as many foods as they can. You choose the rub you want on your entrée and then you choose the sauce to go with it (served on the side) Our waitress "Kate" was very helpful in assisting... More

I have eaten often here both in the bar - a favourite with local faculty - and in the main dining room, but have never had a bad meal. The risotto ball and pork belly appetisers are both excellent, but the cheese plate, while good, is greatly overpriced for the rather meager quantity. I generally choose the duck or pork... More
