Great Service

Service is fantastic. The staff is knowledgeable about their food and drink menu. The variety of drinks on the menu is great with a really great beer selection. My filet minion was really good (a tad bit over cooked on the outside). My husband's duck was great. Both of us loved the potatoes... read more

My wife and I visited with our grandson. Based on the Trip Advisor reviews and a local recommendation, we were looking forward to a great meal. It was OK but not great. The service was efficient and friendly and the atmosphere was consistent with what we expected of a good steakhouse. Unfortunately, my rating is impacted by the quality of... More

Dinner was well prepared.Dishes were imaginative without being pretentious.Service was excellent.Ambience was comfortable and quiet. Prices were good for the level of dining offered. Have paid a lot more for less.

We went to this restaurant because of the reviews, it was to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant proper was fully booked so we found a table in the bar area. It took a while to get served which is understandable The menu offer was not particularly exciting - but we decided to order anyway having spent so much time getting... More

VERY SLOW service - 45 minute wait for wine, two and a half hours for dinner (without desserts); belatedly advised us they had run out of two offered specials we had ordered. Mussels were the size of lima beans as opposed to the expected and usual plumpness. Will not be headed back to the Chop House.

Found this restaurant through trip Advisor review while visiting JMU. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the service of the restaurant. My aged rib eye was cooked medium rare, the salmon and the pork chops were excellent too. I will look forward to this place on my next visit to JMU.

This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants that I have eaten in. Much of the food was locally grown and delicious, the wait staff wonderful and a lovely place to eat. It was my friend's 89th birthday so we wanted something special while on vacation at Massauantan and this was it. My friend had delicious scallops, my... More

My wife and I had filet mignon and ny strip steak. They were both cooked to our liking and the rub and sauce that came with them were excellent. The wine list is nice and we found a good italian wine to have with dinner.
