We had not been to Harrisonburg in 12 years and dined here with local friends. Great meal, good wine selection, prompt and attentive service. Ribeye was perfectly cooked, smashed potatoes perfect and spinach and mushroom dish is the side for those who hate vegetables.

We chose this on a whim and were not disappointed. The food was delicious. The atmosphere is quaint and friendly. Ben was our server and he was great; attentive but but overly so. In fact when he picked up our payment he also picked up our valet ticket and informed us our car would be waiting for us. Would highly... More

Very interesting food choices - farm to table - food prepared with great flavors. We would definitely eat here again. Oh yes - the valet parking was quick a nice treat.

We couldn't get a reservation so we were served in the lounge while sitting at the bar. We may have been at the bar but we got a five star gourmet meal; a shared appetizer, a glass of wine each, two entree's and two desserts all for $65 plus tip. The food is what they talk about on all the... More

Ambience, choices and taste were all first class for this, my first visit.. And I would like to try more. I had the Caesar salad, U10 Scallops and a great VA Wine (Jefferson a Pinot. Noir)! No room for more… I was looking for a place with fresh choices and less salty and fried choices. Although they can help please... More

Okay once we found the place we waited at the bar for our table, the valet parking was really nice! We went with cocktails (instead of wine) and the bartender has talent, it was fun sampling some different drinks, please try their sangria if you are a fan of sangria. We sat upstairs, we both had steaks with sauces, the... More

What a great restaurant! I was visiting JMU with my daughter and we had an excellent meal at the LOcal Chop & Grill House. It was comparable to the best of NYC. If only it was closer to home.... Perhaps my daughter will go to JMU!

This restaurant, located in an old produce bldg, was as charming as the food was great. The bar area was equally as delightful. Everything, according to our delightful waiter, is grown, butchered and brought in locally. We were given choices for steak rubs, sauces, and very different sides. It was delicious, fun, and not overly priced for the meals. We... More

We have visited the Chop House a few times since it opened, but last evening was the first time in a while. We had sworn off the restaurant because the experience had never justified the bill. Our most recent experience was again nothing spectacular. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller. It was good, but the meager serving of three smallish... More

I was on a business trip for the night and really craving a good steak---Tripadvisor did not steer me wrong! A nice old building downtown with valet parking. I was alone, so I sat at the bar and enjoyed conversation with the friendly bartender. The Caesar salad was unique----try it! I had the ribeye medium rare and it was excellent!
