This place is a really cute, hometown crab shack, except that it's inland! The owners bring in fresh seafood from the Chesapeake bay, so the fish and seafood are fresh. When the oysters are in season, be sure to try to oyster po'boy! Servers are armed with squeeze bottles of tartar sauce, so no need to wait for it. Also,... More

We stumbled on Lowry's Crab Shack on a random weekend drive, drawn by the promise of oysters and the nice outside seating. Who knew, fresh crab and oysters and all other kinds of seafood in landlocked Hamilton VA! It's not about the building, the decor or the view; it's all about the seafood. Never able to pass up an oyster,... More

Great food. Fresh seafood. Amazing find so far from the water. This is the type of place you expect to find near the beach. The place with great food and out door dining. Much what you would expect to find in a beach town.

We visited Lowry's for a early diner on a Saturday evening. Between the six of us we ordered steamed plain peeled shimp- big and delicious steamed light spiced shrimp- still a little too much hot pepper for our taste Fred shrimp- fantastic, very lighly breaded, big shrimp. This was one of the table favorites fried fish- decent fried chicken- very... More

I moved to P-ville in July 2012 and have since tried Lowry's 3 or 4 times. I personally find their seafood to be really top notch, with the Fried Shrimp being my personal favorite. Every person I've taken there seems to all think it is a gem of a resturant in Hamilton (of all places). If I had any criticisms... More

We love this place. We have been to Lowrys probably over 50 times since they opened. Even though there is no other place around that does what they do it is still a good experience with good food. Every year they have been open they have improved the menu and service.Plus it is locally owned and operated. What could be... More

My rating is actually a 2.5. We have been to Lowry's quite a few times over the years but I would have to say that the quality and value of the seafood has been steadily on the decline. The crab was way over-priced for what we got. My daughter and I split a crab dinner for two and my husband... More

Went her with my family on a Sunday afternoon and found several items were not available as they ran out of food. Their steamer was broken so they could not steam crabs. Lowry's is known for its' fried chicken so I ordered all white meat and received a drum stick and a thigh (no white meat or breast). For my... More

It's such a great place to sit outside and have a few beers with dinner. The expanded menu offers a lot of variety. My kids love the fried chicken.

Located in beautiful downtown Hamilton, this appears to be a popular restaurant. However, everytime I have visited, I have found it to be pricey. The quality of the seafood is not outstanding for the price being charged. Good but not great.
