I was recommended this restaurant so went for our anniversary. Food was superb, compliments to the chef. Pleasantly surprised at price. Service was excellent. Charlie was in charge and surprised us by saying she was standing in for the owner. Charlie you were fab, thanks for the honeycomb icecream. Very friendly. Nice decor. Had a fantastic meal Saturday night . Whole experience was perfect. Decor and ambience in restaurant was lovely and so relaxing. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and efficient with nothing being too much trouble. Restaurant was very busy but nice to see the right ratio of staff to diners, something that seems to be lacking a lot these days. Also,... More

My family and I booked a table for 2:45pm today, we were still stood at the bar waiting to be seated at 3:15pm even though tables had been made available and new diners had been sat down, upon asking we were sat at our table where cutlery was missing and staff seemed to be in no rush to put this... This was my first visit with friends who had recommended The Woodman. Set in the countryside, it has to be good for people to drive there and we weren't disappointed. The service was excellent, caring, friendly and attentive. Be patient while your meal is prepared from locally sourced produce, the wait is worth it. The food was superb, fresh and... More

If your after good food, service and pleasant surroundings try the Woodman. The crab starter was lovely and the gin list is interesting.
