Me and my wife were returning from Charlottesville and heard that the BBQEx was a good place for BBQ. Everything was right on par for this to be a local favorite. From the decor to the wait staff, all seemed to say "we care". Portions were generous and flavorful. We're glad we stopped and everything hit the spot. The only... More

Went here for lunch with friends and we were happy we stopped. The line seemed long, but moved quickly. Price was reasonable, food was great. I had chicken sandwich, hush puppies, and we tried the fried green tomatoes. The hush puppies were outstanding, ranked up there in the category of, "Best I ever had." Fried green tomatoes were good, I... More

We've taken a saying from NYC, if there is a long line, get n it and you won't be disappointed! After an afternoon visit to Montpeliar, home of James & Dolly Madison, we decided to have dinner at The Barbeque Exchange that we passed at noon and it was so crowded we couldn't get in. Stand in line, select your... More

We discovered this place soon after it opened, and we were recently thrilled to see it on the Cooking Channel. We eat here about once or twice a month, and it is always great. We first noticed it because our number one rule for locating a good barbecue joint is to look for a pile of wood out back. This... More

Finally on this trip we went out of our way to pickup takeout for dinner at our relatives' house. All 6 of us feel this is the best pulled pork and fixings around this area. Not one bit of pulled pork, buns, sauce, slaw, baked beans was left when dinner ended. I reviewed this place previously and am happy to... More

Barbque is so good! Several sauces available so you can flavor it to your liking. Large portions, big selection of sides to choose from. Wished I lived closer- would make this a habit!

Having lived in the Charlottesville area for years, I have been meaning to visit the BBQ Exchange for years. Last month I finally got the opportunity. I was very excited, having heard that this was THE place to go for authentic BBQ. While I have to admit, it was a decent plate of BBQ, I have to say it was... More

This place was great. If you are in the mood for barbecue, make a stop here. Lots of choices and great desserts too. It's busy because it's popular but they're efficient at getting everyone through the line without feeling rushed. We will certainly return when we're in the area.

I have begun stopping here on my return trip to the Richmond area in the last year. Normally I drive a different route home which is closer but after finding The Exchange I now regularly drive the extra miles to make get a BBQ fix for dinner at home. Excellent pulled pork with light airy homemade buns. Pork has a... More
