I really wasn't expecting much but honestly, the food here was great. I had chicken on a bed of barley cooked in a creamy sauce- wow. It was absolutely delicious. Everything cooked to perfection. Great service. My husband had home made chicken and veg pie-perfect pastry-everything spot on. An absolute gem of a pub.

The Royal Oak is in a beautiful thatched building and appears to gave been recently refurbished inside, with some armchairs and newspapers to relax with. We had a very nice, reasonably priced meal, going for the fish and chips which was a cut above what you might expect in a pub. Puddings were large and equally nice! The owners were... More

This is a beautiful pub in a great setting, very picturesque. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Good selection of drinks. There were 7 of us for Sunday lunch, service was prompt and efficient. The food was delicious, the roast beef was nice and pink. Good selection of veg, and very tasty gravy. Highly recommended!

I have eaten here several times, admittedly a couple of years ago now. And always been really impressed with the food, so much so I dragged family and friends out of the way to visit: Burgers made with locally sourced meat, that are amazing, for example. My last visit on Sunday 10th May was a huge disappointment though. No burgers... More

We have been to this pub many times in the past approx 10 years ago, when it was difficult to a get a table especially on a sunny day at the weekend! We had very expectations - so were looking forward to this return visit after living away. Unfortunately, whilst the pub has been 'poshed up' and is very fresh... More

My husband and I popped in for lunch yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was excellent and all with a smile! The food was very good and not your usual pub grub. Must say the chocolate brownie really was home made and delicious!! Will definitely be going back.

It had been 5 years since we last visited here and boy has it changed. It is now an up-market dining pub with carpeted floors and fancy furniture. It has replaced its traditional pub feel with something more modern and, somehow, less relaxed. Despite this the staff worked hard to make us feel welcomed, the service was good, and the... More

Met some friends here for lunch and had a good meal (sandwiches etc), which were good and tasty - but a little pricey. The pub has changed a lot over the years I have been going, but is nicely decorated with good staff and service.

Went for dinner last night to The Royal Oak Pub in North Gorley, Michelle & The Team have transformed the atmosphere and eating experience from average to fantastic. Michelle and her staff always go above and beyond providing a outstanding dining experience. Michelle is the driving force behind the success of the Royal Oak.
