Having been recommended to the Royal Oak North Gorley, we were very disappointed with the attitude of the Bar man/Manager. We were a party of six and although the there were two tables for four persons unoccupied they were not prepared to push them together, excuse being it could be difficult for the staff to move around. I looked very... More

We visited this pub in December whilst staying in the New Forest. The staff were lovely, friendly and professional. Small but varied menu. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the puddings were equally delicious.Hope to return to the New Forest in the Autumn and would definitely eat here again.

Once again ten of us had a great time welcoming in the new year . Brian , the owner and his manager Michelle couldn't have done any more to make us feel welcome . The buffet was superb and the bubbly which was included in the price of the ticket flowed freely both on arrival and at midnight .The DJ... More

The Royal Oak has a lovely warm atmosphere as you walk through the door. It has a cosy fire and a welcoming bar. Seating is varied from soft leather settees to casual dining tables with both high and low seating. There is also a small restaurant area. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. The menu isn't extensive, but we... More

Pretty thatched pub on the edge of the New Forest. Delicious Sunday roast lunch, beef perfectly cooked, nice selection of vegetables and the opportunity to order smaller portions for those with smaller appetites. Puds were equally delicious. Will most definitely be returning. Thanks to the staff who were all friendly but professional.

Really worth a visit. Nice beers, really good food. Dog friendly. Often ponies and donkeys out front. Staff are friendly and the Landlady, Michelle, has high standards. Nice views from front garden; and has a back garden too.

Came across the Royal Oak whilst spending the weekend in the New Forest, popped in for lunch, quality beers and good food (only had a sandwich) whilst nestled on the sofas in front of the fire/wood burner, lovely feel of contemporary meets the country...

Our friends who live in Spain take us to great restaurants and we wanted to return the compliment with a good New Forest pub that exceeded the norm. We found it here. All our means we're beautifully served and very well cooked, wine choice excellent and service tip top, although we had a very young waiter, the lady of the... More

We visited to celebrate a fab weeks holiday in the New Forest. We all had different meals and all agreed the quality of food was excellent, as was the service. We had dropped in earlier in the week whilst out walking and the tasty cheeseburgers and fine ales had made us want to return. This made a perfect end to... More

My wife popped in for a quick catch up and ended up having a great meal. The pork belly was very good and the service was excellent. Michelle and Richard have transformed business. Best place in the New Forest.
