Great Food

Stopped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. Will definitely return to this restaurant.

Great place for friends and well looked after. All beers you could want but ciders just a handful. Food good but not fast for a quiet day at the bar, but very enjoyable when it arrived. Service first class lots of knowledge from service team.

We stopped in late New Year's eve afternoon....wanted my beer and could not remember the name of it. The manager stopped by and knew exactly what to recommend. Loved the long tables by the window, near the bar. We ordered many appetizers and everything was served at the perfect temperature and very tasty and filling. All were such generous portions.... Met friends for Burger Night. Good burgers, french fries and service. Waiter recommended I try Devils Backbone Vienna Lager which is brewed in Lexington, VA. As a result of that visit I now buy this beer on a regular basis.

I was searching for a nice place to have dinner that would not bust my travel budget so early in the year. I walked over to Hondo's Only Prime steakhouse. I am not sure my Am Ex has enough line of credit for their prices. $50 for a steak was a bit much. Then I saw Capital Ale House. The... More

Like to search out local restaurants when traveling (using TripAdvisor), and this one was another winner. Steak Salad was very good; and, can you say draught beer??? The most I have ever seen. Great place to stop when traveling from the northeast to Florida, and overnighting in the Richmond (Glen Allen) area. Friendly, clean, good food and reasonably priced.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and we stopped in for dinner and a beer. Lots of good beers on tap to choose from, good food and service at a reasonable price.

I knew I would find a beer I could enjoy, but I never expected the food to measure up. It has been a while since I had visited. I had a seafood soup that was good, but the real surprise was the cobb salad. It was not typical, but that is why i loved it. It was kind of a... More

A bunch of colleagues met for a drink and appetizers. The beer was good... Nice selection! However the space was awkward and the food was just ok... Small portions and overly salty in my opinion. I would go again, but it isn't necessarily the top of my list.

It was nice visiting this particular location and Ale House. I like beers so I tried the recommended "Duclaw Sweet Baby Jesus" Dark Stout Beer. It was very good for a stout. I normally don't try stouts but this one had a sweet name and given the time of year... why not. I did like it. It was a smooth... More
