Excellent service for group

We (travel volleyball) group dined here over the MLK weekend and the staff was very accommodating. Our part ordered everything on the menu and all was served fresh and prompt, even the checks were correct, which never happens in a large group. Try the salad options, yummy appetizers and craft... read more

Went about 7:15 on a Monday. Plenty of seats available. We were seated at a booth in the bar area. The bench seat was very uncomfortable. The springs were clearly worn out. Had a few wings as an appetizer. Mexicali flavor. They were very good. Decent menu but would have preferred a few more entree items. Had a chicken sandwich... More

we both ordered the prime rib and it came out like nothing we had ever seen before. they actually "fried" the slice of prime rib on both sides with seasoning a bit too much. didn't enjoy a nice juicy prime rib dinner that we are accustomed to. Waitress disappeared for a long time and finally asked another waiter if he... More

Love their fries and the different dips. For the most part food is delicious. Service is a bit slow.

I'm going to rate the restaurant on the taste of the food. And talk about the service in my review. I went in for a late Sunday dinner which is never auspicious, but the food was good and the service was mixed. I'm not sure if my server was just having an off day or this is the usual. He... More

We stopped there for a beer while staying at one of the nearby hotels. I did not sample the food, but it does have a nice beer selection and a roomy and comfortable (if somewhat bland) atmosphere. The down side? They did not have all of the beers that they said that they did, and I ultimately relied on the... More

We ate at Capital Ale House twice on our last trip to Richmond. The beer (and cider) list is awesome and fun to explore. We had burgers, fish tacos, macaroni and cheese (not to be missed!), belgian fries, sweet potato fries, and more. The "adult" macaroni and cheese is a special four cheese combo and has optional additions like spinach,... More

great selection of beers, but food is just okay. if you are into beers this is the right place. if food is more your thing there are much better choices in the area.

This is a comfortable, casual and good place for dining. I conveniently walked from the next door Hilton hotel. The restaurant is not loud like a sports bar, but is casual and fun like one. There are intimate booths for dining and wonderful lighting. The staff is prompt, professional and knowledgable. The restaurant has an amazing beer selection. The menu... More

I have visited this Capital Ale House several time. They have a great beer selection with the bartenders being very knowledgeable about them. The prices are a little on the high side, but overall not to bad for a nice establishment. The $2 burger Monday's can't be beat. I will visit when I return on business.
