Good food, slow kitchen

Locally owned and operated on Main St in Front Royal Va. Nice selection of moderately-priced choices on the menu and daily specials. I had the curry chicken wrap with fresh veggie side and enjoyed it a lot. Sister got the salmon cake and veggies and said that she looks forward to coming to the... read more

The entire staff seems to be confused at this restaurant. Four meals and I have little of anything good to say about any of them. They were served with the wrong sides, substitutions were made without asking, just a disastrous experience, This place is going down!

We were in Front Royal to shop on main street this weekend and had seen Soul Mountain restaurant the last time we were in so decided to have lunch. They were busy and it appeared only one person was attempting to wait on everyone. Took ten minutes for our drink order which wouldn't have been bad but management had called... More

We were visiting town for the weekend, looking for a place to eat after getting in on Friday night. Not wanting something heavy and expensive, but not wanting a burger joint or fast food either. This place was fantastic - surprisingly varied menu, very reasonable prices, and the food was FABULOUS! Add to that very attentive friendly service - loved... More

We were looking for a place to eat, and saw this place as we were driving through town. We decided to stop, and were so glad we did. The owner was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had about how the food was prepared. We had the ribs, and the BBQ sampler. The food was very good. Our only... More

Soul mountain is BY FAR the best restaurant in town. Hands down. It's not only the food but more importantly- the service. The owner goes out of his way to make sure his guests are comfortable and enjoy the experience and he takes pride in the food he serves as he should- it's spectacular! I would dine there every night... More

On the recommendation of the local tourist office we came here for lunch on a cold wet day. We wanted somewhere warm and with some nice hot food whilst we pored over maps and tried to decide what to do as it was too wet to see anything on the Skyline drive. We found the place fairly rustic in its... More

Checked out the menu earlier in the day and decided to give it a try for dinner. We got there right at 5:30 when they opened for dinner as we hadn't had lunch, and were the first ones there. We were greeted pleasantly and our orders taken right away. The dining room is pretty simple. There are no tablecloths on... More

This place used to be great. Now, not so much. I get the whole Marley novelty vibe, but nobody wants to eat in a place that smells like a hippie compound. A place like this - kinda grimy and disheveled- is generally a sign of all the attention placed on the food. Well...that's not quite the case nowadays. Now: Utensils:... More

We planned to eat lunch somewhere else in Front Royal based on Trip Advisor reports, but that restaurant was not open. Instead we happened upon Soul Mountain. Food was great and service was friendly. Cool atmosphere.
