Not a bad lunch

On the recommendation of the local tourist office we came here for lunch on a cold wet day. Checked out the menu earlier in the day and decided to give it a try for dinner. We got there right at 5:30 when they opened for dinner as we hadn't had lunch, and were the first ones there. We were greeted pleasantly and our orders taken right away. The dining room is pretty simple. There are no tablecloths on... More

This place used to be great. Now, not so much. I get the whole Marley novelty vibe, but nobody wants to eat in a place that smells like a hippie compound. A place like this - kinda grimy and disheveled- is generally a sign of all the attention placed on the food. Well...that's not quite the case nowadays. Now: Utensils:... More

We planned to eat lunch somewhere else in Front Royal based on Trip Advisor reports, but that restaurant was not open. Instead we happened upon Soul Mountain. Food was great and service was friendly. Cool atmosphere.

We were enticed by the posted menu. Walked in and a lot of folks were finishing up. We're seated right away. We both ordered lump crab cake sandwich, no onions. No problem. While waiting all the tables started to vacate but there seemed no sense of urgency to clean them. Behind the bar area the busguy? was spraying bleach on... More

After a long day hiking our family of four had a late dinner at Soul Mountain. We were tired and really hungry.. After a trip to the bathroom and a view into the kitchen we were ready to walk out. Filthy walls and floors and the kitchen looked dreadful. It took a really long time for our food to arrive... More

We enjoyed your dinner, especially my son with his curry chicken, but I found it a wee pricey. I will however visit you again on another special occasion.

We heard the food was good but won't know. 30 min after we order we checked on the salad and wings we ordered. 10 min later we checked again and she said it was being plated. 10 min later we checked and she said "it's been like this all day. I dont know what is going on" and she began... More

Hadn't been back to "Soul Mountain" in quite a while. They were moderately busy, and our server was efficient, fun and made our lunch more enjoyable. The meals were good, and my husband and his friend definitely enjoyed the HUGE brisket sandwiches. We like that you can substitute grilled veggies for the French fries. My friend and I had the... I understand in small towns food choices are slim, but it doesn't make it ok to settle for sub standard cuisine. The dining atmosphere is quite plain and does not really scream culinary creativity or interest in establishing a theme for a customer base. Only three other tables were occupied upon our arrival. After looking over a hectic menu (with... More
