Description: The endless creativity of Chef-Owners David and Stacy Gedney has produced an excellent bistro alternative to the commitment of fine dining restaurants and to the ennui of the countless chain restaurants. Element offers a variety of sapid dishes for lunch and dinner in a relaxed and modern atmosphere, augmented by a full bar, beers on draft and an elegant wine list. We adjust the menu regularly to keep our ingredients fresh and our choices interesting.

This restaurant is as good as it is unpretentious. The building doesn't really suggest a great restaurant, but I think this may be an example of how the owners can spend more money on the ingredients because they spend less on rent. This would be worth a drive from DC, where the building is often more impressive than the food.

First-class food in a cool vintage building - great wine list, terrific food, and amazing desserts. We enjoyed the asian scallops, the quail, and the burger, with peach pavlova and bourbon bread pudding for dessert. Excellent wine list, and it appears the restaurant recently acquired the space next door which used to be a wine shop. Now it is a... More

While the outside of this restaurant was raggedy, a Trip Advisor recommendation, overtook us. The inside is charming, painted in deep colors. Sandwiches were really good: turkey with bacon and veggies on a delicious roll with a great poppyseed dressing. The tomato-crab-dill soup of the day had lots of good crab taste. My husband's sandwich, Old Rag Mountain, had mustard... More

The Element is fantastic! The food is superb, taking patrons beyond tired fast food fare while keeping to the casual. Our server, Todd, couldn't have been more helpful, accommodating, or understanding. He's just a genuinely nice person and fun to talk with. Locals and visitors to the Valley, especially Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park, will find this inviting and... More

Went here for a birthday dinner. Highly recommended. Everything was perfect, great food and excellent service. Tried the Salmon, quail, pork, and an excellent salad. Get the prime rib special if they have it, huge. Desserts were really good as well. Excellent value for the price, better than big city restaurants that cost twice as much. They have a nice... More

We have a monthly social and go to different places each month locally or maybe out in Winchester. We chose Elements for April and we so enjoyed the evening. Great atmosphere and incredible food. I had the Salman dinner and it had kind of a crusty texture from the grill and it was amazing. They have a small menu but... More

Food was bad, order was wrong, Attitudes where bad, parking sucks, Local drinkers got better service than the diners. Everyone has a bad night , so maybe if the moon aligns with Mars I may go back in this place.

Never had a bad meal here. A little cold in the winter but the food more then makes up for that. The pork dishes are always a home run.

My girlfriend and I went to Element for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We arrived without reservations at about 7 on a Thursday evening and were seated promptly. The menu was creative and inspired and we found ourselves torn between many delicious-looking options. Our server, Deborah (also the manager of the restaurant), gave us fantastic suggestions for food and had... More

We have lived in Front Royal for many years, but hadn't eaten dinner here although it always seemed packed. We finally decided to try it and what a treat! We had the chicken and pork dinners. The chicken was absolutely the best I've ever had. Amazing. My husband loved the pork tenderloins. The mixed green salad was huge and very... More
