Description: The endless creativity of Chef-Owners David and Stacy Gedney has produced an excellent bistro alternative to the commitment of fine dining restaurants and to the ennui of the countless chain restaurants. Element offers a variety of sapid dishes for lunch and dinner in a relaxed and modern atmosphere, augmented by a full bar, beers on draft and an elegant wine list. We adjust the menu regularly to keep our ingredients fresh and our choices interesting.

We were staying one night in Front Royal and this place was recommended by our B&B host. We got a table no problem on a saturday night and although the menu was not extensive there was something for everyone (my partners parents are extremely hard to please). They have a great range of beers and wines. The food was really... More

We were travelling through town and stopped here for lunch. We ordered soup and sandwiches. Despite the food being tasty, what we remember is that it took close to 1 hour to vet our meal and the waitress was snotty.

Based on earlier TA reviews we did the same research. We wanted a convenient pit stop for gourmet trail sandwiches to take on a Shenandoah hike. This place has street parking minutes from the North Entrance of Skyline Drive. Opens early. Almost a dozen handmade delights with names like "Old Rag Mountain" and "Shenandoah Ranger". They'll cut'em, wrap'em tight, add... More

We stayed at the Woodward House B&B and our hostess recommended this little gem of a restaurant. It's small, unpretentious, and excellent!! We were a party of four. Two of us had the scallops and pronounced them perfect. The roasted chicken was very tasty, and my shrimp and angel hair pasta was yummy. I could have licked the plate. The soup... More

We visited this restaurant on recommendation from Tom at Killahevlin B&B where we were staying. We had lunch there and both my husband and i thoroughly enjoyed our salads and sandwiches. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to come back the next day.

Having lived most of my life in Washington D.C. and San Diego, I am accustomed to excellent cuisine and have become a bit of a food snob. We generally don't enjoy the majority of restaurants in Front Royal. My taste buds were delighted with my first meal and dessert at Element. The service and ambience were excellent too. The owners... Read the reviews before heading to Front Royal and decided this would be a great place to have lunch before touring Skyline Caverns. The tour of a Skyline Caverns was superior but this restaurant was a disappointment. - walked in and most tables empty but not cleaned from previous customers - limited lunch menu - wait service was slow due... This restaurant is as good as it is unpretentious. The building doesn't really suggest a great restaurant, but I think this may be an example of how the owners can spend more money on the ingredients because they spend less on rent. This would be worth a drive from DC, where the building is often more impressive than the food.

First-class food in a cool vintage building - great wine list, terrific food, and amazing desserts. We enjoyed the asian scallops, the quail, and the burger, with peach pavlova and bourbon bread pudding for dessert. Excellent wine list, and it appears the restaurant recently acquired the space next door which used to be a wine shop. Now it is a... More

While the outside of this restaurant was raggedy, a Trip Advisor recommendation, overtook us. The inside is charming, painted in deep colors. Sandwiches were really good: turkey with bacon and veggies on a delicious roll with a great poppyseed dressing. The tomato-crab-dill soup of the day had lots of good crab taste. My husband's sandwich, Old Rag Mountain, had mustard... More
