Only One Thing I'd Change

I've been told, and can affirm, that Forest and Lynchburg are "relational" towns, meaning it's great for raising a family, and that the streets roll up at around 7:30. I've been told, and can affirm, that Forest and Lynchburg are "relational" towns, meaning it's great for raising a family, and that the streets roll up at around 7:30. The restaurant's population also reflects this, with a huge crush between, say, 6:00 and 7:30PM, and then it loosens up considerably afterward. The wait staff is running around like madmen during... Thank you very much for the feedback, and the suggestions. I agree that most diners like to eat between 6:00 and 7:30. I wish we could spread out the volume over a 5 hour period to insure the best service and food quality possible. We will continue to improve everyday, so please come back to see us soon. Ben More

We visited the restaurant recently after only one other visit. Skeptical to return, the food, service and ambiance was superb. Wait staff recommendations were perfect to include a local IPA selection - Chocolate Beer....Awesome! Will be a regular for our business luncheons and events!

While on a mini vacation & visiting wineries and antique stores in the area, my husband & I stumbled upon Crab & Cows. We had left another establishment and found this one, wasn't sure at first but once we entered and saw the specials, we were intrigued. Decided to order calamari, SUPER, won't be able to order it anywhere else.... More

At first glance, Benjamin's may seem a little rough around the edges, there are what appears to be skinny tree trunks used to support the roof inside the building. The main dining room is relatively small, however they now have extra seating in a closed in deck. One look at the menu tells you that this place is special. Their... More

Three of us went to Benjamin's for the St. Patrick's Day dinner. We have been going there for this occasion for the past 3-4 years and loved it. However, tonight, we were very disappointed. The outside menu stated Corned Beef and Cabbage, onions, carrots and mashed potatoes. While the Corned Beef was tasty, over half of it was fat. The... More

Thank you for the feedback. Please accept my apologies for your less than perfect dining experience. We take great pride in our food and service, as well as our special events like St. Patty's Day. Although volume can be increased during those special events, that is no reason you should not have had the experience you have had in the... More

The owner and his staff are trained in the culinary arts and always create beautiful and tasty meals. The restaurant is a converted rustic bar with breathtaking views of the Peaks of Otter (Sharp Top and Flat Top Mountains). In good weather you can enjoy your meal on the deck, and often times they provide live music on the deck.... More

We had high expectations for Benjamins after a friend bragged of it, so after a year we finally went. It definitely lived up to it. From food to service to value, it was great. We will return often.

I never have visitors to town that I do not take them to Benjamin's. The food is top of the line, new in presentation and style, and always fresh. Never had a bad meal here. The planked salmon is terrific as is the Filet. But check the specials since they are almost alwasys top notch. If you like Onion Rings...well... More

We had a party of 6 and the service was good. The food was very good and prices are reasonable. The chairs and tables were a bit old and it was a bit noisy but we had a good experience.

Thank you Matt for dining with us and for the feedback. Over the years, many have asked why we don't bust out a wall to allow for more seating and better acoustics. The old land mark dates back to the 1930's as a filling station. It has evolved over the years from a hotdog and beer joint, to an upscale... More
