Chateau Morrisette offers fine dining in a casual setting. Located along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd County, Virginia, Chateau Morrisette sits at 3500 feet with spectacular views of the valley below. Chef Sterling Steffens creates authentic southern haute cuisine designed to pair with the wide assortment of wines produced in our cellar. Guest favorites include Our Dog Blue paired with Shrimp and Grits, Fried Green Tomatoes paired with Muscadine, Duck and Dumplings paired with Chardonnay, and our Chateau Filet paired with our Chambourcin Reserve. Vegetarians enjoy a variety of dishes as well. With two estate gardens, Chateau Morrisette provides seasonal offerings to insure quality and freshness. Guest may dine by the fire in the colder months or outside on our terrace in the warmer months. And of course, a visit to Chateau Morrisette is not complete without a stop in our Tasting Room for a sampling of our wines and a little shopping for uniques gifts and accessories.

Beautiful outdoor location to eat

Sit outside if available. Beautiful spot and very friendly service. Food a bit lack luster. Cobb salad had 4 small pieces of chicken. It was very tasty but definitely short on the meat. Cuban sandwich good, black bean burger about a 4 out of 5. That being said, the new chef is rolling out an entire... read more

Lovely restaurant offering brunch, lunch and dinner. New French chef has reinvented the menu a bit. Really delicious well rounded choices. Nice local red and white wines. Great tasting venue. Worth a visit.

Spectacular view and very appealing rooms in the restaurant. Food is good, but fairly traditional. Wine not so good, although they do offer other brands of wine

Thanks for the nice words about our winery and restaurant. Chateau Morrisette offers over twenty varieties of wine, from sweet to dry, including a number of blends, traditional varietals, and even some fruit wines too. We do not offer any other brands of wine for sale. The restaurant does provide a selection of beers and non-alcoholic beverages for our guests... More

We are loyal and regular customers of the Chateau Morrisette. I am not comfortable writing this review, but it has to be done. We dined there Saturday, January 9, 2016. The reservation was made well in advance. The service was not good. It wasn't that they were busy. We sat and sat and finally ask if we could have water... More

Thought about giving the new chef a try since I had a coupon. Terrible!!!! From the other negative reviews it is safe to assume this is not a good place to go. Several other amazing restaurants in the area. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

We have been going to this restaurant off and on for the last 15 years. They go through chefs like I go through Oreos. The bag never lasts long. Well it was our 29th anniversary and we heard they had a chef du jour so we decided to give them another try. With some debate my wife and I decided... More

Thank you for your feedback. I have shared your comments with the Chef and the Manager. The Manager remembered speaking with you that evening. Our new menu and new chef have received many positive reviews and comments from other guests, so I hope this was an isolated occurrence. I am truly sorry you were not fully satisfied with your meal... More

When we bother. I was elite status and wS told the ticket I had for elite wine is obsolete and that the ticket I had was invalid. They had over sold the tickets.

My family just arrived home from the Chateau after reading that it was the #1 restaurant within a reasonable distance from the cabin we are spending Thanksgiving in. Wow, how disappointing!!! As we approach the hostess station we are confronted with an hour and fifteen minute wait to get a table. Looks of astonishment must have prompted the individual at... More

Thank you for the constructive criticism and I'm very sorry you did not enjoy your experience at the restaurant. We try to limit each server to a maximum of five tables so that guests receive the best possible service. This often leads to longer waiting times to be seated for those guests wishing to dine without a reservation. As you... More

The winery was great. We participated in the tasting and purchased a case of wine to take home. We also had dinner in the restaurant and my daughter received a wedding proposal in front of their fireplace. Very romantic and great views.

Thanks for the great review and congratulations to your daughter and her fiancé. We have three fireplaces in the restaurant which make for a very romantic dining experience. Maybe they will want to get married here too! It's a beautiful wedding venue no matter the season. Come see us again soon. More

If you visit the winery, you should grab a meal here. The staff is attentive and the menu changes frequently enough to make it interesting. The chef has done a good job of pulling together variety that will interest anyone. Do this in conjunction with the winery visit while you're there.
