We have eaten lunch at this restaurant many times and are never disappointed. The restaurant is a part of a winery located on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Floyd, Virginia. The facility is very pretty with lots of flowers and herbs planted on the grounds. There is also an outdoor dining area that overlooks the mountains, our favorite place to... More

We visited the restaurant while having a weekend getaway in Floyd, Va. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the winery and restaurant themselves are beautiful, and the views spectacular! Especially on the balcony at sunset. The wine is very decent for the region. By far the best thing we had was the Tuna Tataki appetizer. I ordered the scallop special... More

My mom, sister and I ventured to the Winery on a cold, rainy day in August. We were staying nearby (Woodberry Inn) and the weather was terrible so we went to the winery hoping for a warm meal! When we first walked in at lunch time we felt a little out of place in our Jeans and T's but the... More

Thanks for writing the review. Our restaurant is proud to promote "casual" elegance. We welcome almost any attire and hope to make everyone feel welcome. Regarding the wine glass, we now offer a tasting for $10 that allows you to keep the glass. These custom glasses retail for $5 in the gift shop so buying it with your tasting is... More

We actually didn't spend a lot of time here but it is a very scenic area and well worth the stop if you're going down the Blue Ridge Parkway. We didn't eat so I can't rate it in that regard. Sorry I had to pick "Coffee or tea" simply to get a review in. Apologies.

Hope you can come back when you can stay longer next time. Definitely try a tasting at the winery and a meal in the restaurant. It's an even better way to enjoy the view! Thanks for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor. More

Chateau Morrisette is an old world type of restaurant with lovely views. The food is generally excellent, and the service is very good! Prices are above average, but reasonable. The winery is located on the property with tastings. Lunch buffets and music on the lawn are provided during the warm months on Sunday. This is a nice place for couples... More

...but the service seems to fall a little more short with each visit. Our daughter's soft drink was promptly refilled at the halfway point while our empty coffee cups were repeatedly ignored. An older couple a few tables away was discouraged from moving from their wobbly table with a tale of a crying baby in another section and settled for... More

I'm glad you enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and am very sorry you had a service issue. I have copied your review and shared it with our restaurant manager. We are inspecting all of our tables as a result of your review. A wobbly table is unacceptable. I hope you liked the chairs as they are all brand new!... More

What a lovely setting! We had a pleasant day so sat outside on the patio, but inside is nice too. The trees have grown since last time we ate there, so no more views of the vineyards but Buffalo Mountain is still visible. When you're done eating...if during business hours...you can walk a short way to the winery for a... More

Thanks for the wonderful review. The vineyard has never been visible from the patio but the farmland in the valley below is certainly spectacular. We will look at the tree growth and see what can be done to improve the view. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. More

Friend took my husband and I here for our joint birthday celebration. What a beautiful spot. We drove to the CM from Smith Mountain Lake, while a beautiful drive took 2 hours. We had Sunday brunch at the Chateau and it was a treat, good food and good service.

Thanks for the excellent review! I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us. Here's a hint coming from Smith Mountain Lake...if you take the scenic backroads through Wirtz and Calloway, using Five Mile Mountain Road, you can cut your travel time almost in half. Your GPS should work until you reach the Parkway. But either way, the drive through the... More

We visited the winery's gift shop before Brunch and participated in a wine tasting. Brunch was very good and offered everything from breakfast foods to fish and beef roast. We have eaten dinner at Chateau Morrisette a number of times and this was our first Brunch.

Wine, great food and dogs - what's not to love? This place is the reason we first visited Floyd County! And we make it a point to come back each time we visit. The view from the deck/patio is spectacular, especially in the evening, and the food is wonderful!
