Great selection of wine and cheese!

This shop is over looked by most people in my opinion! Great selection of wine and cheese. Even some ciders that are pretty good. Nice atmosphere. If you ever want a place to grab some wine with a friend or significant other, this is the place! Even has an upstairs room that hardly ever has... read more

When I saw the name, I expected a full service bakery with class cases, with many choices of baked sweets. Instead this place had a large selection of olive oils, wine, some tables for having coffee. The only desserts were some croissants, a few kinds of cookies and a loaf style bread pudding. I walked out without buying anything.

We had lunch. Sandwiches were excellent, but it took awhile. (We were warned of this by locals) It also offers wine, beer and other food supplies.

Jarrod, from "j fergeson gallery" (which I do recommend), suggested this place for lunch. Nice place, typical euro bakery/deli minus the outdoor seating. Look at the overhead chalkboard menu, stand at the counter to give your order and pay. BTW: While we were there, 2 of the 5 customer groups asked if the amount could be right. Total seemed to... Lunch here makes the trip out to Farmville to look at furniture fun! It does take a while to get your food but it is very good. I had a cup of roasted red pepper smoked gouda soup and half of a sandwich called "The Esteban". It had quince paste, turkey, cheese and was on a toasted baguette. Very yummy!... More

This place is run by some folks from the Netherlands (so I was told by a local) and the baguette was absolutely delicious. I was so shocked to find international delights such as quince paste and ginger beer in a small town like Farmville. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, a hot chocolate and added two short beeswax taper candles... More

I was shopping in Farmville today, 09/16/2014 and decided to grab lunch at The Bakery. I walked in and there was a female employee standing behind the bakery case. I was focused on her and did not see the blackboard with the menu. I stood there for a minute before she acknowledged me. I asked if she had a menu... More

Finding quality food in a small town can sometimes be difficult. The Bakery delivers a sophisticated menu accented by a mature wine and beer selection. I've eaten lunch here twice, and the chef delivered consistently. If your in Farmville, and don't want something deep fried, I highly recommend swinging by the Bakery.

It may be a small, eccentric place (check out the upstairs), but it's packed with great cheeses and wines and truly excellent homemade pastries and breads. The sandwiches are the best in town, definitely not mass-produced. Service is slow but that's a reasonable trade off for the quality of the food. Parking is 50 cents per hour, not exactly a... More

I have visited this establishment total of 6 times. The food is just okay. It is not great by any means it's just different. The prices are outrageous. But I would have kept on going back, as I like to support small and local businesses, if it wasn't for this one problem: on all of my 6 visits, I observed... More
