Post bike ride lunch

We had lunch on a weds afternoon riding the High Bridge trail. Not very crowded so we were seated right away. Attentive server kept our thirsty bodies hydrated. She crab soup is a must. Chicken salad was great but the pasta shrimp special was greasy and the Alfredo sauce wasn't very good... read more

The main course was terrible. Prime rib was tough, grizzly, dry and over cooked yet raw in the middle. Not the work of a chef. Our waitress notified the manager but he never came over to speak with us. We did get dessert on the house but had to pay $25 dollars for a meal my wife could not eat. Salads... More

We had dinner here on a quiet Saturday night. The crab dip was good, but warm. Not hot. Calamari was excellent. Mr husband and I both had the prime rib. We ordered it medium rare. It came out mor medium well. They corrected our order and the replacement was good. The chocolate dessert was amazing and our waitress suggested the... More

I had relatives stop in on their way back from Vacationing in Florida, so we went to Charleys! Everything was really great!! It was Thursday so I had mouthwatering ribs that just fell off the bone:) Brian our server was excellent and Drew the Manager was really professional and courteous as we had our mom's with us who are never... Cool atmosphere. Friendly service. Poor food quality. Salty over battered calamari, my wife's eggplant sandwich was the worst she had every had, the kid's pasta with alfredo sauce is too heavy on garlic for most kids.

On our way home to Raleigh, we stopped in Farmville on a summer Friday evening. We explored the Main Street looking for a likely dinner spot after a long day of driving. We were pleased to see a waterfront restaurant, and delighted when the receptionist offered an outside table. She showed us to a spacious deck by the river set... More

We ventured out from Charlottesville to Farmville to check out Green Front Furniture stores (a hodgepodge of grossly overpriced and often garish pieces). But, not all was lost, as we stopped by Charley's Waterfront Cafe for lunch. The lunch menu is largely sandwiches, many of them creative. Spouse had a chicken salad sandwich which she rated as very ample and... More

The food is always good. My husband and I especially like the Wednesday Night Italian Night. Its cooked fresh in front of you. Its all you can eat. The atmosphere is great for a date night.

We completed the Sandy River Adventure Course and were staying on site at Sandy River Retreat, where the staff recommended Charley’s for dinner (sepcifically crab dip) and Sunday brunch. The crab dip was excellent. My husband loved the shrimp and grits, but the specialty was the desserts. Carrot cake was the best we have ever had, and the strawberry pastry... More
