On a busy Friday night, we were seated right away. There is ample space in their large dining room. The ambience is charming while being casual. The wait staff was very attentive: I noticed that they relocated another party to another more spacious table as more of their friends arrived without the party asking. That showed me how accommodating the... More

Was visiting Crewe and looking for a nice place to have lunch nearby. This place had good reviews on Foursquare so we gave it a try. Crab soup was good but I wasn't wowed. However, the crab dip was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were really good and the carrot cake was great. Our waitress was very sweet. Would def come... More

We enjoy dining on the deck overlooking the river. Love the crab and red pepper soup or the salad with strawberries, walnuts and cheese with a glass of jam jar.

My wife and I ate at Charley’s Waterfront Café on Saturday, November 1, 2014. We were shopping at Greenfront and Charley’s is right next to building 10. We arrived about 1:30 and had no wait to be seated. It took a little while for our waiter to show up and take our drink orders. We could tell our waiter was... More

I highly recommend the fried chicken, the Mac and cheese, the Caesar salad, the French onion soup, the crab dip and the excellent wine choices. So many yummy choices, you can't go wrong. Portions are large. The Tuesday "date night" special is great!!

We went on the recommendation of a friend, didn't ask what they ate. Atmosphere was great. Lots of memorabilia from the warehouse district. The menu was simple but when our server mentioned the special was served with a creamy sun dried tomato risotto I knew what I wanted! Not the porterhouse, too much steak, but the risotto and the app... More

We always stop by Charley's for a meal when we are in the Farmville area. We go for the crab dip. We had soup and salad in addition to the crab dip this last trip. The soup was a little saltier than I prefer but it was good. The salad was crisp and fresh. We will be going back whenever... More

The macaroni and cheese is amazing!! We split the Cobb salad and gave us room for the delicious carrot cake it was a beautiful autumn day on the deck so relaxing by the water. The history of the place gives it added charm. Across the street from Greenfront . Make sure after you eat to visit Longwood University Art center... More

Visited Charleys on way back from trip to Jefferson's summer house at Poplar Forest. For a visitor from UK both places were a treat. Loved the friendly, relaxed atmosphere at Charleys. Enjoyed the meatloaf and mash. Delicious. Loved the town, what a great looking place. Just wished I could have spent a whole day there. Had an Irish coffee for... More
