Three generations of our family traveled from out-of-town to Farmville this month (Feb. 2015) to attend the funeral of a beloved uncle. About 20 of us met by accident at Charley's Waterfront Restaurant the night before the funeral, as a result of all of us having received recommendations from various sources that Charley's was the 'place to go' in Farmville.... The staff is friendly and accommodating; the atmosphere is fun with a large college-aged customer base, food is good and plentiful, good bar and comfortable setting.

My husband and I were traveling home by 460. We went off the exit and found this wonderful restaurant by chance. We will be returning. The service and food were delicious. Wonderful atmosphere. I had the eggplant sandwich and it was scrumptious. My husband had one of the burgers and it was delicious. Enjoyed everything about this place. It was... More

The food here was good and the atmosphere was indicative of the Virginia Piedmont. I ordered the deli sandwich of the day and the crab soup. I GOT a small side salad and a bowl of soup. The balsamic vinaigrette was delicious and the soup had good flavor, but I picked shell out of almost every bite I took. Another... More

Being the nearest available restaurant for a visit to the monumental Greenfront complex, Charleys is our default spot to eat in Farmville. And given that it captures shoppers by proximity alone, the food and service are WAY better than they have to be: it's a real pleasure to eat here and is reliably good in an out of the way... More

We drove into Farmville to bike the High Bridge Trail. We arrived at lunchtime, and parked in front of Charlie's. We decided to check it out. We were seated quickly and a waitress came quickly to get our drink orders. The menu was adequate and we both ordered the Reuben. I got onion rings and my husband got the chili... More

We arrived in Farmville looking for a good place to eat after several days on the road. We discovered Charley's, and it was a great little discovery. We had their chili (hot, as in spicy, but very good), their crab bisque, the Reuben sandwich, and a salad. The only **negative** things I have to say about all of the above... More

This restaurant is one of the best in Farmville and I highly recommend it. The Decor is rustic and warm, the food is amazing and they have live music on weekends in the evening. If you are in the area on Sunday, for their Sunday Buffet, put it on your list of thigs to do.

We stopped in here passing through Farmville. I had the roasted red pepper crab soup and the caprese. Both were delicious. The crab soup was unique and best I've ever had, not like typical crab soups. They make their own mozzarella, so this made the caprese even better. It was the holiday season, very large facilities, several banquet areas and... More

I was in Farmville on a weekend in November to visit my niece, who is a student at Longwood. We dined here twice, once for dinner and later for brunch. We did not have reservations either time. The restaurant itself is very large and quite attractive. There is a deck on the water which I'm sure would be lovely at... More
