Not bad for a sports bar

The food is always good. My husband and I especially like the Wednesday Night Italian Night. Its cooked fresh in front of you. Its all you can eat. The atmosphere is great for a date night.

We completed the Sandy River Adventure Course and were staying on site at Sandy River Retreat, where the staff recommended Charley’s for dinner (sepcifically crab dip) and Sunday brunch. The crab dip was excellent. My husband loved the shrimp and grits, but the specialty was the desserts. Carrot cake was the best we have ever had, and the strawberry pastry... More

As residents of Farmville, we often eat at Charley's when we celebrate a special occasion. Last night (a Tuesday date night), my husband, son and I went to celebrate my birthday. We arrive shortly after 7:30 pm and the restaurant was not completely full. When the hostess finally came to the front desk, she asked whether we wanted inside or... More

We stumbled on this restaurant for lunch. The food was solid good food. The pepper crab soup is wonderful. The taco salad was quite tasty. Better fare then the chain restaurants. We would recommend it for any meal.

Charleys Waterfront Cafe is probably the best restaurant in Farmville. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone including kids. Pretty good wine and beer selection, too. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

The menu is diverse, and the food very good. The best potato skins on the planet. The service was engaging, and fellow-diners were a pleasure to be with. The former warehouse has been very well restored. Bravo on all counts.

I recently went to Charley's Waterfront Café after bicycling on the High Bridge Trail. The restaurant is a great place for lunch and has a good menu. The food, service, and atmosphere was very good. Charley's is located in a former tobacco warehouse located on the banks of the Appomattox River and features a good lunch menu. Having lunch at... More

Went there Tuesday night simply because we were staying in town and saw it as we drove by. So glad we did! Very attractive venue in a converted 1900's era factory building. Tuesday night was "Date Night". 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 desserts AND an included BOTTLE of wine for ----- $35!!! And, all was really very, very good. The... More
