Actually we were picking our son up from camp in Farmville, VA. But we stopped in Charley's and the waitress recommended the Waterfront Burger. It was handsdown the best burger I've ever eaten in a restaurant. (And I've eaten a lot of burgers, world-wide) Bacon, carmelized onion, ground beef, on a fresh brioche bun all melded together with an earthy,... More

Disliked nothing, loved everything! Staff was friendly and informative about the area. Food was fantastic and glad we found the place.

Our first visit to charleys and we will go back. Menu was full of items to please all and all orders were good. Hamburger and tuna were cooked to order. Crab soup was great. Wine selecction was ample. We ate on the deck and that may have contributed to the slower than average service. Also, couldn't management spend a little... More

We live near Farmville and stopped going to Charlie's. The menu was blah, the food just not all that good and the service was iffy. Recently wee had company and decided to give it a go. Wow!! The menu has changed for the better. Portions are very generous, salads were crisp and had dark greens (as opposed to iceburg), and... More

A family of 4 we had lunch of soup, sandwiches, chicken fingers, baked Mac-n-cheese. Everything was very tasty. Our server, Chelsea was super! She had great energy. Our food was served quickly and hot! The place is nicely decorated, on the Appomattox river. Would recommend! Average cost for meals.

The atmosphere was good and this made for a nice place to rest after a busy, hot day. We had a burger, a chicken sandwich, and chili, all of which were good. I don't know if it lives up to big city standards, but for Farmville it is a solid choice. I wish the river view was nicer, but that's... More

We stopped for lunch while passing through Farmville on our way to Williamsburg. It was our second visit. Lunch was very tasty, but we did wait for awhile for it to be served. I think our order hit the kitchen just behind a large table. We'll go back when in the area.

We really enjoyed our meal.... did some furniture shopping at the nearby warehouses (Whew!) The side salad that accompanied the turkey reuben was a meal by itself! A lovely setting for recuperating before we ventured forth for more shopping!

We stopped here for lunch when traveling through Farmville. The atmosphere was very nice - exceeding our expectations. The menu had lots of great choices but we finally settled on the Waterfront Burger and the Great Chicken Sandwich and French Onion Soup. Burger and sandwich were both very good. I enjoyed the unique French Onion Soup topped with puff pastry... More

We read the reviews and were staying in a local B&B so we tried Charley's on a Sunday night. I first time visit for two couples and it just did not live up to our expectations. Service was ok but uninspired. The beer was cold and the burgers that two of us got were OK. I opted for the $2... More
