It's tiny, so make your reservations first

This is a hometown restaurant for me. The food is superb, though a favorite meal for me is an arepa, side of corn salad and quatro leches cake. (Yes, quatro). A quick caution - you are allowed to park anywhere in the motel lot, but DO NOT park in the Chipotle/Starbucks lot. They tow with a... read more

Had dinner here in mid-July 2015 with my son. We'd seen great reviews of the place and are fans of latin food. We were not disappointed. Ordered one arepa and they were so good had to try another kind. That Pabellon main dishes are amazing and large. The drinks were very good as well, and on the strong side. Waitstaff... More

We're glad that you and your wife loved the Pavellon Criollo and Arepa. Our location is on the smaller side and can get very busy on the weekends and early in the week. We recommend you make a reservation to ensure yourself a comfortable seat. We look forward to having you both back here again soon. More

Overall I was very disappointed by this restaurant. I made a reservation ahead of time since I had read that it was small, but when we showed up they didn't have a table for us and we were told we would have to wait nearly half an hour. Annoyed, we decided to sit outside instead since there was no wait... More

I visited with a vegetarian friend who raved about this place and claimed it was featured on some TV show. I was surprised we were eating at a place connected to an old motel (likely to be soon demolished based on the changes in the that area). Anyway, we had to move from the booth we were first seated, because... More

This is the kind if place where you expect to get a screaming deal. You don't because it is priced as a regular restaurant, but the meat was exceptional as was the cabbage salad. A fun change but don't expect any deals just because it's in a creepy motel environment.

La Caraquena is located in a scary motel complex that looks like it would be the perfect setting for a slasher movie. Once you get inside the restaurant, though, you find that it's a nice, cozy (only about 20 tables) and inviting place with new furnishings, a wood decor and even throw pillows on the upholstered benches, and a Latin... My Venezuelan friend has frequented this place since before they became well known, and she invited me to try arepas the with her. Food was amazingly delicious (grilled arepas sifrinas, y arepas domino, guava and passionfruit juices, yucca fries, tres Leches cake and quesillo) but prices were kind of high. .. $9 for one arepa? And the waitress was argumentative,... More

They have a nice variety of food. I tried one of their Peluda Arepas--so tasty and flavorful-- and a bowl of the Sopa de Mani--which was equally as flavorful in a different way. I would love to have the opportunity to go back. It is just a little pricey but well worth making the effort and spending the money. My... More
