Take out bushels were good

We had a corporate event that we needed crabs and beer for. Captain Pell's was the choice and the food product was very good. Arrived a bit late for pick up and the crabs clearly had just been boiled. They gave us extra packets of seasoning that we later mixed with very little water and used for a... read more

I only get to have steamed blue crabs every couple years when I get out to the DC area on business. I was out there this week with a couple of friends/associates and we gave the place a try. The actual steamed blue crabs were a little disappointing, though at the time I was thinking maybe I just wasn't as... More

This is one of the best crabhouse in VA and Washington DC area. The place is old fashioned and run by a family. It is not fancy at all but it is clean. The crab is very good and fresh. Do not miss their corn, it is amazingly tasty. The prices are reasonable with an average of $35 per person.... More

I visited Captain Pell's Seafood for the first time on 10 April 2015, I had always heard great things about the place, but had to try it for myself. We had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a seat, but the food was excellent. Of course, I went for the all you can eat crabs, sweet and meaty, then I... More

The place doesn't look much from the outside or inside. Parking lot is not smoothly paved. On the inside, walls are covered with advertisements from local merchants. Menu is all about seafoods. Huge plates of cooked crabs are served. I ordered fried fish and scallops for $21. They have bottled beers for $4-$5, lemonades for $3. The place is pretty... More

We were all craving a little seafood and found this seafood restaurant on Trip Advisor. I like locally owned restaurants and was glad to give it a try. There is nothing fancy here. Our food was served on a paper plate. But, that didn't really bother us. We didn't do any of the "All you can eat" crabs but ordered... More

This place is always crowded (our second time there in 2 years while visiting Fairfax) and I'm not sure why. I know the big draw is for the Chesapeake Bay crabs and while the steamed Snow Crab legs and steamed shrimp were good, I wasn't impressed with the service. They always seem to be short-handed (both visits were on a... More

Best crab legs I've had since coming to NOVA! they also have a 'fried' scallop appetizer (just a teeny bit of breading) that was sensational. Sports bar atmosphere that would probably be fun on a game night, but the food will definitely bring us back.

Went on a cold weekday night in February. We had not been before and we were hankering for some seafood and decided to give this a try. We ordered combination platters, fried clam strips, crab cake, snow crab legs, steamed shrimp and both fried oysters and on the half shell. The first impression of the restaurant is tired and rundown,... More

Went with wife and her parents on a cold night in mid Feb.....one slight negative right off the bat.....no handicap parking. If my in laws ( in their 80's ) were by themselves it would have been a treacherous walk in the ice. The place reminds me of a barn. One huge room. It was pretty chilly throughout the restaurant,...
