Whenever I come to town, I go to Captain Pell's. When I lived in Fairfax, I was a regular here because you just can't beat the tasty crab at this place. This particular visit, we had a huge party (over 15 people) with a lot of requests. They accommodated us, everything was tasty and great, and we had a fun... More

At Captain Pell's you are welcomed by an overwhelming smell of the crabs, loud chatter, big screen television sets, huge tables and chairs and at most times -- a long wait. My husband decided to treat me to an exclusive Mother's Day dinner at Captain Pell's. We called in for reservations and they said they didn't take any -- however,... More

Captain Pell's is a landmark to me and my family. We love the no frills atmosphere and the 100% genuine Crab House service and food. I'm not a particularly good crab picker - so I tend to opt for the King Crab legs -which let me dig in fast and furious and get the maximum amount of crab meat in... More

Even though I just went to the Washington DC Metropolitan area, the worse time to eat fresh blue crabs, Captain Pell´s delivered the best I´ve ever had. The place is a messy family style restaurant with excelent service, reasonable prices and fresh clams too boot. Alas, no steamers, but easily overlooked by the rest of the fare. If this is... More

I have frequented this restaurant for over 15 years when visiting the DC area. My recent visit was the first one in almost 4 years. It was great to step inside the restaurant and be welcomed back by our waiter, Tony. This is a very simple concept. Buy fresh cooked blue crabs in a variety of sizes by the dozen... More

My one visit to this restaurant ended soon after we entered. The overwhelming smell of crab and the piles of crab leavings on nearby tables made my stomach do a 180. This place is popular and I am sure crab lovers love it, but it was all a bit too much for me.

We finally checked this place out last night. All we wanted was crab, some shrimp, and some raw oysters. We got there early around 5 since we were already on that side of town. Thinking we would beat the rush the server (who has worked there since the beginning) said that this is the off season as far as business... More

This was such a great place. I had always wanted to try the Chesapeake Bay Crabs and it was all that I had imagined. The waiter was great. I had to ask him how the heck to eat the crabs. We got the Crab Feast-all the crabs you can eat and all the napkins you need to wipe your face... More

If you don't feel like travelling to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Cpt. Pell's has fresh, well-seasoned crabs and other seafood. Its a bit pricy but it seems that its market price offered.

Ok. I'll will admit that Captain Pell's is a no frills restaurant, but they have blue crab year round, plus king and snow crab. I have been going to this place for years and it is a favorite of my wife. This is a place to eat crab and have a few beers period. It is pricey but in their... More
