We stopped here for lunch and were underwhelmed. While the service was great, the food was disappointing. The prices were much higher than expected ($3 for sweet tea?), and the chopped pork was dry and not very flavorful. We much preferred our lunch at the Auld Shebeen Irish Pub down the road the next day.

Red Hot & Blue used to be an occasional haunt for me and a close friend for BBQ ribs and grease-laden, but oh-so-tempting onion loaves. Our wives both disliked this fare, so this was an ideal place for boys dine out. But, the Fairfax location just doesn't stand up to other RH&B locations at which we have eaten. The ribs... More

We're regular visitors to RH&B in Fairfax, but they also have excellent restaurants elsewhere, including Arlington, VA. Our favorite menu items are the pulled pork platter, the pulled pork sandwich, and 1/2 slab of "dry" ribs. These dry ribs are the best we've found in several southern states. These are rubbed with spicy seasoning, not slathered with sauce, though you... More

The pulled chicken platter (dinner) is good, and the collard greens wonderful. Dry ribs are awful -- way too much paprika. The onion loaf is a big treat but quite greasy. Otherwise, the service is passable and friendly, and speedy without fail.

By and large RHB is an average place, which is not really a bad thing. It shows a consistency in the various locations and I know what I am getting when I go to a RHB. This location has held on for a pretty long time now and I have been there a few times over the years. This latest... More

Dinner was fine. Cole Slaw, vegetables and pork barbeque. Food was relatively quick, music/TV not too loud (you could easily hold a conversation with others).

The food was very un-inspired and marginal at best. The bbq was dry and flavor-less and the menu was lackluster. I would not eat here again.

Great menu but seems kind of cookie cutter. Service is spotty. Is nice that everything can be to go on those nights you want something different and don't feel like cooking.

Wanted barbeque late at night. Tried nachos with pork and chile, and pulled pork sandwich. Nacho dish huge, but very dry, sandwich meat cut short couldnt stay in bun. Not a great meal.

The food here is average BBQ. Ribs can tend to be dry, the sauce used tends to the sweet side. But it's convenient to Burke/Fairfax if you're really craving some BBQ.
