We were referred to this restaurant by friends. We were looking for a place to enjoy a birthday dinner. The food was good, in fact better than average for a chain Mexican Restaurant.

This has always been an all time favorite for years! I love the Chips and salsa, the Swirls and the food! You can go wrong with this place!

Came here for an early dinner. Although not too crowded it was very noisy and loud. Although we sat inside, they have nice outdoor seating, which would have been quieter and better for conversation. Our entrees were excellent and servers very attentive and efficient. A bit pricey, though. We tried their new table side prepared guacamole, which was ok but... More

I'll make an exception. I love this place. Everything is good, from their free salsa and chips to their meals. I love their queso dip and their beef fajitas. I almost always order chicken and beef combos everywhere else but not here, chicken is a waste of space, not because it's not good, but because the beef is just that... More

So tired of eating at Don Pablo's and other disappointing chains. This is an upscale version of those, but the food is good. A swirlie margarita and some gigantic nachos later, I am always a happy girl and it is a nice medium for someone like me who is not too adventurous with food, and my friends who like more... More

Service is always great. Food is always fresh and consistent in quality - never disappoints. Restaurant can be loud so conversations can be challenging but the meals and service are worth it. A favorite of mine for years.

Now I love mexican food, but this place didn't do it for me. Let's just say it's "Foo Foo Mexican Food". A little over the top and just NOT that great. The atmosphere is very open and the staff look authentic, but I honestly had a hard time finding anythig I liked. They ended up creating something based on what... More

Julio's Río Grande Cafe is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Fairfax and we eat there often. It is the only restaurant that comes close to offering authentic Mexican food. The service is always friendly and efficient. The dishes that we recommend are the ones that offer a combination of fajitas and ribs or fajitas and shrimp. In addition their ceviche... More

Varied menu that fits the small or large appetite. Full service bar for celebrations. The swirl drink is wonderful on a hot day (wait for summer!). Service friendly and prompt and always available to meet your dining needs. Plenty of available parking and handicap accessible. Great for small or large parties.

So I've lived in the DC Metro area for 9 years... I am a southern California native of Mexican descent. I always took good authentic Mexican restaurants for granted until I moved here. I learned that many of the restaurants and fast food places here there labeled as "Mexican" were actually Salvadorian inspired. The name Mexican is used because it's... More
