After visiting when The Wine House first opened, we decided to give it another try on a fine late spring evening. So glad we did. We sat outside in a large courtyard that shares space with several other restaurants, so it makes for a lively, pleasant setting. We started with the charcuterie appetizer, a pretty plate of well-chosen meats, pate,... More

Good wine selection but the food is quite bland. Salads and appetizers are servicable, but not noteworthy. Entrees leave much to be desired in flavor and value. Good news: there is sometimes an adorable dog sitting outside!

The Wine House recently celebrated its 7th anniversary. We went to the wine tasting festivity on a recent Saturday afternoon. 30 wines and excellent complimentary small appetizer plates made this a fantastic experience. If it's been a while since you dined here or have yet to experience this place, you owe to yourself to stop in for lunch or dinner.... More

My fiancé and i have been here twice fairly recently. Our first visit was flawless, but our second visit left much to be desired. The restaurant was virtually empty when we arrived and we had a very friendly server attend to our table. We started with a wine sampler of Bordeaux's which was good. However, it took forever to get... More

Four of us enjoyed a fabulous meal at The Wine House. Food was outstanding, service was great, decor was great. Highly recommend - prices were as expected. We will return.

There were two of us for dinner. The restaurant is in a charming location in Fairfax. It's filled with 'modern' retailers but the exterior is red brick and recreates a "Virginia" feel. Free parking as well which is nice. We walked in and the hostess and owner greeted us. They worked hard to accommodate us first at the bar then... More

We're long term City of Fairfax residents and had a "front row" seat watching the transformation of "Old Town" Fairfax. One of the best outcomes of this makeover is The Wine House. Our dining experiences at this place include lunch, brunch and dinner (including new year's eve a few years ago). The most recent experience was a weekday lunch in... More

The restaurant is close to our residence and we have been 3 times for a quick lunch. They've had a wine tasting every time that we have been with good a good following. The food is fresh and well prepared. The beef Burgundy was a little soupy and the wild mushroom risotto was delicious. One of my favorite is the... More

Here for lunch. Service is good, but not great - especially as tables fill. Atmosphere needs work - seats uncomfortable, chairs too high, lighting too bright, bar uncomfortable, no waiting area if tables are filled. The wine is delicious - the pours are small. The food is AMAZING! Music adjusted for ambient noise would be a nice touch. All in... More

The food and the international wine options were very good. The ambiance was very nice, they had some relaxing jazzy music playing. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Regarding the food, we tried the asparagus soup. It was very flavorful and well prepared. Then the sausage over linguini pasta with pesto and sundried tomatoes cream sauce was delicious. The Chef knows... More
