This was the 1st time we had been to Auld Shebeen. From the beginning John the waiter gave us outstanding service. He brought the drinks right away and made great suggestions for our meal. The food was very good (we had the Shepards Pie and fish n chips) and you have to try the Irish sausage appetizers. We loved the... More

Very hard to find a parking spot but if you don't mind a few blocks walk you will enjoy the atmosphere. You forget you are in a modern building; its very Pubby! Lots of great food options that will bring your tastebuds back to Ireland. While it was quiet the evening when were there I'm sure this place can get... More

As far as dining, this little pub was probably the highlight of our stay in the DC area. We knew nothing about it, but took a chance and won big. The staff and proprietor were all extremely friendly and the St. James Gate Guinness Beef Stew was to die for. In addition to American cuisine, they offer traditional Irish fare.... More

We've dined here twice and both times the meals and service were excellent! They have the best corned beef and cabbage entree. It's lean corned beef and not greasy at all. The Shepard's Pie in crisp on the top and generous. Ask for a taste of their beers to pick the right one for your meal. This visit was a... More

Plenty of cold beer and a traditional Irish atmosphere. With the GMU students gone for the summer, we found ourselves in a mostly empty pub. We opted for a high top in the pub area but plenty of tables were available as well. The atmosphere was all pub with plenty of wood and TVs around. Service was attentive. The manager... More

Oh man. Words cannot describe my love of Auld Shebeen. Everything about this place is amazing. The environment is perfectly old-school Ireland, with photos of the Irish Republicans and their leadership everywhere (political arguments aside) and the food follows suit. I have had dreams about their Irish Breakfast, and it is the dish that I measure all others by. The... More

It is just wonderful to visit the Shebeen to have that extra Irish touch. The service is good and the waiters/waitresses keep up with all your needs.

Sat at the bar, food was good and the Guinness was poured correctly. Went there mid week and was not crowded. Bartender was pleasant and owner stopped by to check in on us. Will be going back.

We had a late dinner for four with excellent and attentive service from our waitress and from the manager. It is a great location in downtown Fairfax.
