Friendly and Fun and Delicious

We had a terrific Shepherd's Pie at the Auld Shebeen which was generous enough that I had it for breakfast the next morning. I am really sorry that I didn't get the waiter's name because he was fantastic and the owner/manager? made the rounds and had nice conversations with the diners. My only... read more

We had been there many times, but not recently so we decided it was time for a return visit. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. Too much of the food, french fries tasted like they came in a package frozen and were thrown in the fryer. The cod in the fish and chips too...making it a very disappointing choice. Four people,... We loved our time at the Shebeen with its cozy interor, wine colored walls with common Irish quotes skirting the walls. We decided to only eat Irish or Irish-ish dishes. To start we ordered two Tully Bucks. These cocktails had so many coflicting ingredients, we felt they'd be really good or really bad. They were really great. For an appetizer,... More

We had an awesome meal before heading to the nearby Patriot Center. The specialty chicken dish (can't recall name) was awesome as was the Sheppard's Pie. They have a great beer selection and the menu has a good mix of traditional irish dishes and other pub fare. One warning, do not park at the nearby Woody's Ice Cream - even... More

The food was and always is wonderful! The lamb shank is so good I would have ordered a second one if I thought I could have finished it! We eat ear all the time and never have bad food or service. They have live Irish music all the time which just completes the experience. Drink menu will always let you... More

The Auld Shebeen just seems to be in the right place for an after-outing drink and snack, so we've been there several times, but only occasionally for a meal, and never to experience the live music they feature. They quite willingly provide the smaller amount of ale one of us prefers, while paying close attention to the little details such... More

Just a block down Chain Bridge Rd. (Rt. 123) from the 1800 Court House. Lots of free parking nearby. This restaurant has been a favorite of my out-of-town guests, Traditional Irish menu plus American.

On a cold day we sat next to the fireplace and were welcomed by knowledgeable, articulate, friendly staff. Great traditional Irish food and drink (Guinness, Irish coffee).

A great gem! Beef stew is delicious and hearty. Loved the potato leek soup. Also, the Irish soda bread and Guinness brie. Everything was very good and we'll be back.

Service was friendly & extremely quick (went on a Tuesday night). My snakebite was served in less than a minute & the cup of potato leek soup came just as quick. The soup was tasty but only like warm. The bangers & mash came shortly thereafter. Serving size was about right, it was very flavorful, & hot! I've been here... More
