Authentic "Mexican" in Virginia!

We chose this restaurant due to being at the edge of the hotel parking lot which meant just a 50 yard walk to it. We are from Texas so were not wanting poor "Mexican" food in Virginia. We found the Rancho Viejo to be nicely decorated as a Mexican Rancho and the staff was all Mexican. We found the... read more

When I walked into restaurant I saw two bugs crawling on the floor. That's all I needed to see, I left.

We had lunch and enjoyed the lunch prices and food. The service was good. We would suggest this place for lunch and dinner.

The food here was pretty good and we didn't have to wait too long for it either. The waitress was very professional an attentive to our needs. HOWEVER, there should be a law about eating Mexican food with out having a beer. They don't have a license, they need to get one.

Typical Mex restaurant, ok food, ok price. If staying @ Ho Jo's an easy walk across the street. The chips and salsa were free and good. Portions about right.

The food was good, nothing to complain about. Too bad they have ABC license issues. The fajita's are a solid menu item. The kids enjoyed their meal as did my wife. Not my first choice for dinner, but always a solid option. Friendly staff.

Loved the chips and dips, the friendly staff. The food was good and the restaurant had outdoor seating with a view of beautiful hills.

This is an average Mexican food establishment. Years ago, there was one Mexican place in the Roanoke area. Now, there are at least a dozen. This one is an average offering of Mexican food. Standard menu. Not bad food, not excellent. They have had some credit card fraud concerns in the past with prior employees stealing credit card information. Also,... More

Nice large restaurant. Food was very good, but for some reason they no longer have a liquor license. If you want a beer or margarita with your meal this is not the place to go.

We were traveling, and got off the road to eat. This was NOT our destination, but the building just looked so welcoming. Inside, the decor and ambiance were pure Mexico - attractive, warm and inviting. Our server (Joanna) wasn't big on English, but she was friendly and efficient. The menu is extensive, and portions are LARGE. The food arrived quickly,... More
