Italian is the comfort food of the soul. This restaurant tries to deliver, but does not quite hit the mark. Food is 'good'. Probably as good as I can make at home. The building is very nice, but a home does present an awkward venue for a restaurant. Overall - pretty good and I would return.

Went on a Saturday night. Place was cold. One table had a table cloth, ours did not. Suggest they place candles on the tables as it is dark and this would really help. Some food is not fresh, (e.g. the clams,) so be aware. Asked for hot tea and received it in lukewarm water so the tea did not dissolve.... More

I cannot get enough of this place! I am from San Diego so have to fly across the country, but it is definitely worth it. I will be back soon!

My husband and I ate here while spending a night in Culpeper. There are many excellent restaurants in Culpeper, and it was a difficult decision to decide to go somewhere we had not yet been in place of the others we knew were great. But, we decided to try Lucio's. We had been bicycling all day and were a bit... More

The old Victorian House is lovely as are the staff. The food was so, so. Bland.....and pricey for what you got.

Staff is polite and accommodating. Bread was served with oil and spices (not sure if it was olive oil). The meal was satisfactory or better. Great find in this town.

Had a lovely dinner at this restaurant--not great, but not bad. I had clams and pasta, and the clams may well have come out of a can (chopped clams), but the waitress knew enough to warn us beforehand that the clams would not be in the shell, since she knew that surprises some customers. I enjoyed the flavor of the... More

We stopped by enroute from Pennsylvania to Southeast Virginia (Route 522) Wife is vegetarian so Italian and Mexican are the safest choices. Historic house on Main St. Tastefully presented and oh so delicous. Service was a bit slow with only one waitperson and an an assistant server, but that probably matched the handmade pasta. Lunch is only served Thursday-Sun and... More

On a recent road trip, I stopped in Culpeper, Va. for the night. Checking online, I found Lucio, which, according to the website, serves European food (Italian influence). It was Saturday evening around 7, so I called ahead. Since I was a single, the person who answered told me to come right in. What a lovely surprise. Lucio is in... More

Without any pre-knowledge we stopped a Lucio's while traveling south. I think we were attracted by the Italianate name. A warm hello, an invitation to sit on the porch and quick service made great welcomes. Since it is Virginia we had no great expectations for our meal, simply to be fed. The menu seemed fixed, short and standard. My order... More
