Description: If you're ready for a new fine-dining experience, it's time to visit Foti's Restaurant in Culpeper, Virginia. The superb service, delicate flavors, and extraordinary wines rival those of the finest restaurants in the Washington, D.C., area. Indeed, owners Frank and Sue Maragos refined their talents at the world-famous Inn at Little Washington prior to opening Foti's in 2005. Yet the friendly atmosphere and small-town hospitality are uniquely Foti's, which is why the establishment bears Frank's childhood nickname. Foti's menu revolves around the finest local products, including grass-fed beef and lamb, handmade cheeses, and heirloom vegetables and herbs.

We were disappointed at the selection and presentation. I ordered the traditional turkey dinner and my husband ordered a pork dish. They had large portions but half-hazzardly put together. The turkey was moist but the rest of the plate was mushy. Unfortunately for us, this was the only restaurant open nearby because of the holiday.

Dropped in for lunch with my cousin. Girls Day out for shopping and a nice lunch. The waitress was wonderful. She sat us near the fire when we told her we needed a quiet place for girl talk. She didn't mind at all that we occupied her table for over two hours! She was attentive, but not too attentive. We... More

My husband and I had just finished a long day of physical labor and decided to treat ourselves to dinner, not knowing the area we just drove until we found something that looked good! We stumbled upon Foti's, and wow what a keeper! Beautiful old building with great ambience, I must admit the front door was a little hard to... More

All of the food I had was amazing! The fish and chips was divine, the fresh mozzarella was the best, and the pork shank was cooked perfectly! I was even pleasantly surprised by the portions, I could not even finish my entree, but it was so great. If I'm ever in the area again and want a fancy dinner, I... More

Visiting Foti's continues to be a wonderful experience. Most of us chose from the autumnal specials and they did not disappoint. Main dishes that night included a pork shank and a braised beef in red wine. Every dish for every course that arrived at our table was beautiful to look at, brimming with fresh flavors and taste. This was coupled... More

Having had excellent meals at Foti's in the past, I was disappointed in my most recent visit. My vegetarian entree was pretty good, the soup was bland, and, sadly, the service was just okay. New staff, I think. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. The restaurant is very attractive, warm, brick walls, dark furniture, subdued lighting.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with friends. Relaxing, good service, but on a rainy dark day it was very chilly. Nice if the heat was on, or the fireplace. There were only a few tables occupied, so guessing not worth the cost to management to warm up their diners. Their menu choices were varried, some of us enjoyed their salad... More

We recently ate at Foti's in Culpepper for the first time. The meal started with a tomato-eggplant soup that was one of the 5 best soups we have ever had, and we've eaten in hundreds of restaurants all over the world. The entrees were very good, just not as terrific as the soup. We shared a piece of caramelized apple... More

Came for lunch. Nice food, but never told that Sunday menu is different than lunch menu. Also, very bright and front window could use some blinds at high noon. Piano player nice for relaxing lunch. Dessert was excellent.

There are only a few "fine" restaurants in Culpeper to choose for a rehearsal dinner and Foti's is one. After eating an excellent dinner here, we were pleased and thought this was a great choice. Folks enjoyed it, but, coming from the DC area, I am used to more responsiveness. From the beginning, there were some problems communicating by email--non-response... More
