An unexpected splash of culture

We went to da Luca sight unseen while staying at Montfair Resort Farm in February, and we were delighted by what we found. The food was incredibly diverse and delicious, and our three-course meal was easily the best that we had on our trip to Crozet. It is a bit pricey to eat here, but the food... read more

da Luca is a great place for a date or to bring friends. My wife and I eat here often when we are in the area. They have a small but frequently changing menu, with lots of vegetarian items that can also be made vegan. Service is alway very good, and the ambience is nice. Plus, we never have found... More

Last week I returned to Da Luca's in Crozet. The visit reinforced my opinion that this restaurant is my favorite in the state of Virginia. Indeed, there is no restaurant in DC that can compete with it, in my opinion. The food is prepared with great skill and care, prepared with the freshest ingredients and presented beautifully. We sampled nine... More

I returned to da Luca Bistro & Bar after an absence of several years and was delighted to find it is still a distinctive and enjoyable place to dine with friends. What better way to catch up than over an array of delectable tapas. The kale salad is to die for! a must try with crisp kale, toasted almonds slivers,... More

We were visiting the Charlottesville area for a wedding and found this restaurant from reviews on TripAdvisor. Boy what an excellent find. It is a little off the main drag in Charlottesville but well worth the drive. The food which is mainly tapas style was amazing and the wine selection and drinks were super. The bartender was extra friendly and... More

The food is outstanding and expensive. Being tapas, portions are small, but prices are that of a full sized meal, so be prepared to spend. Nice wine selection and staff is quite knowledgeable to make suggestions.

I have enjoyed every dish that I have tried at this restaurant and wine bar. I recommend it strongly. The place is usually quiet, which is a little concerning. I like my favorite restaurants to be busy enough to make money, but just barely quiet enough that I can get a table.

This was our first dining experience the night we arrived in the area and in retrospect, my favorite. It is definitely a small plate situation so take that into account as you are ordering and/or sharing dishes. Virtually everything we tried was good, especially the Moroccan spiced tuna, haricots vert "fries" and the gnocchi. Nice selection of wines, reasonably priced,... More

We have been to this lovely little wine bar/ small plates restaurant about 5 times since we discovered it while building a house/ moving to Nellysford this past year. Last night with neighbors was our latest visit. We had a great bottle of wine and shared about 8 plates (excluding dessert). Yummy stuffed peppers with goat cheese and pesto, shrimp... More

Each bite of nearly everything on the menu is more delicious than the last. Small plates at their best.
