I have now eaten at Wilkerson's Seafood Restaurant twice after wine-tasting jaunts. With a second disappointment, we've decided that we need to find another place to eat over there. The bright dining area with big windows on the Potomac River is its best asset. We ate late lunches both times, and in both cases I tried the salad bar. As... More

There is a shortage of good seafood restaurants these days. In a lot of areas you have to drive a little ways to get some really good fresh seafood. For my family this is the case. We are willing to drive for an hour to get seafood at Wilkerson's in Colonial Beach. When we go there, we drive down on... More

Right on the water with great views. It's a seasonal all you can eat seafood buffet and salad bar. Nice bar. Looks like locals also ate there. Special of the day was good and the lump crab BLT good. Excellent cole slaw, too.

Went during bike week. Nothing outstanding, but a variety of choices. Had rockfish and shrimp. Fish average tasting. Shrimp not fresh, appeared to be the frozen type, prepackaged.

$30.00 buffet of dried up tasteless food. Menu items are OK at best and expensive. It's on the Potomac so you do have a view and this is where the waterman harvest blue crabs so you would think at least the crab items would be good. Not the case. The place is old and smells/looks like it. It appears they... More

Well known as the buffet worth eating but not sure where that reputation came from. We went in expecting lots of food, well worth the $28.95. Checked it out before ordering it and it was mostly fried (over done) food on the buffet with few selections. We both ate from the menu and it was fair but overpriced. Not sure... More

The view from here is something to see. The food is fine but not memorable. Altogether average except for that view. I have been here twice with family and they loved seeing the osprey!

This restaurant has been around a long time (since 1946, I think), and for much of that time it had a great reputation. There just doesn't seem to be the "fire in the belly" for running a great place that the original owners had, even if they are the same family. There's so very much opportunity here: still living on... More

We met our daughter and grandchildren at Wilkerson’s for lunch over spring break. We like the view of the river while we eat and usually stop by the Colonial Beach boardwalk after we finish. The lunch specials are a bargain at $9-12 each and include bacon burgers, shrimp, oysters, crab cakes, etc. They come with 2 sides and a basket... More
