The four of us arrived just as they were opening the doors.
Mediocre orange crush instead of as advertised “best on the island”! It was quite watery.
We ordered the pork belly ap - just to try it.
It had a nice flavor but for...the price we felt it was too dry, a disappointment.
The Mexican salad was tasteless,
avocado was hard as a brick (inedible) with very dry, flavorless chicken pieces that we figured were salvaged from last evenings leftovers.
The fish tacos were not bad..no complaints there.
Crab cake sandwich was fresh, but bland but the corn on the cob was a disappointment. Served in the husk, wrapped in paper, the first piece was black and moldy at the end (could smell it from across the table) so we returned it and were brought another. The second piece did not have apparent mold, but was stale and brown instead of plump, perhaps also left over from last night. Inedible. Our brought another piece as a courtesy but we decided not to try it. It is the height of corn season!!
The pick and peel shrimp were fresh and plump. No horseradish was served w cocktail sauce.
We declined desert and went next door for some amazing ice cream.
Sorry for this review but we felt it necessary for those who enjoy fresh seafood and shellfish. Glad we didn’t order the oysters.
Maybe Steamers is so busy in season that they don’t have to pay attention to what they actually serve. I’m sure it wasn’t always the case.
