One of the few good places in town

The Village is one of our "go to" places in Chincoteague. The food is always good and the service is always reasonable. Even though they tend to close during the winter, most times it has been to update things on the inside, which keeps the restaurant looking good. The seafood is fresh and there... read more

Always a pleasure to visit the Village. Last time was just before the holidays. The wife and I decided to go and get the stuffed flounder (me) and stuffed shrimp (her). Our waitress mistakenly brought two stuffed flounders, when she realized her mistake (it happens), she let my wife keep her flounder (and no charge) until the stuffed shrimp was... More

Immediately seated upon arrival. Service was attentive and friendly. Opted for the broiled flounder, salad and baked potato. The homemade bread presented with the salad was right out of the oven warm and soft. The small salad was improved with the delicious raspberry vinaigrette dressing. When the flounder arrived, I was blown away at the gigantic portion, but sadly disappointed... More

I've eaten here before and usually find it's pretty good. This time was a little disappointing - steamed shrimp, while a generous portion, was overcooked.

We had a wonderful dining experience from the time we walked in and were greeted by a friendly hostess to our server (Kelsey) who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Our dinners were some of the best food we have eaten on the island. Our experience was so good we made reservations for the next night, same table with a view... More

The wife and I ate here tonight for dinner. It wasn't crowded and we were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and efficient. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp which is something many restaurants cannot get right. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give them a 7.5. Good but far from the best. The sauce that came with it was pretty... More

You must try the homemade coleslaw, cream of crab soup, vegetable crab soup, coconut shrimp & the LIMA BEANS--DELICOUS!!!! all of it. Even the 8oz lobster & filet is well worth the $$. We ate in the "lounge" and enjoyed the bartender & her stories.

My husband and I first found this place about 10 years ago and loved it. We went back the next year, and loved it. We didn't come to Chincoteague for a while, but came back this year - and again, we loved it! It is not the cheapest place around - two people can easily go over $100 with wine... More

We recently had dinner at the Village. The service was reasonable and the staff worked hard. The food was the weak point. The oyster chowder had tasty oysters but was watery with little else to add taste. The stuffed shrimp was overwhelmingly made up of stuffing and cheese. The founder was passable and the maui was decent. In the end... More

Enjoyed this restaurant, staff is very friendly, food is very tasty, especially oysters on the half shell. We were very hurried though by waiter. My husband was served his coffee before finishing his meal..But I recommend the food. We had a pleasant view of the creek marsh ad watched snowy egrets feed.
