spending a week on Chincopeague to visit the great beach on Assateague. Island is very crowded because it's the week of the pony swim. Expected so so meal and expected so so service due to the crowds. Au contrare! Service was great. Food was superb. We started with a bottle of merlot with a price as palletable as the wine.... More

My wife and I came here when we could not get into Bill's on a Thursday night. She ordered the crab cakes and I had the chicken parmesan. She felt the crab cakes were nothing special and a little mushy. My chicken parmesan had a healthy order of pasta which was fine and two large pieces of chicken parmesan. The... More

I am a native of Chincoteague Island, and my dad's livelihood was as a waterman all his life. I know good seafood. The hallmarks of good seafood are freshness and properly prepped for presentation to the diner. Currently, Village Restaurant, operated by Lisa Hudgins, is the best on the island. We returned again tonight for dinner. Our 7:00 p.m. reservation... More

Stopped in on a wednesday night having two hungry kids and no expectations. We were quickly seated by friendly staff.cute decor. Definitely family friendly. Seafood was fresh and yummy. Healthy portions. Average prices you would expect for a seafood restaurant. Our server, Blair, was sweet, attentive and helpful. Good kids menu. Thanks! :)

Went here with my boyfriend and it started off not so well. We sat at the table for 10 minutes and no one even took our drink orders. We saw our waiter walk by about 4 times. The woman who sat us asked if we were waited on yet and then told the waiter we were his table and he... More

I made my reservation 2 weeks before our arrival. I asked for a table by the window, which they did save for us. Our waitress was very good. I had the Flounder which was huge and very good. My wife had the 28$ filet, which was nothing to right home about. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. Its a nice... More

My husband and I had dinner at the village restaurant tonight and the seafood was fresh and sweet. I had the steamed shrimp and the wet perfectly seasoned, not too spicy so you could taste the shrimp. The portions are large and all entree come with two sides. The green beans were disappointing, I think they came from a can... More

Make reservations if you really care about what time you eat. This place has a great following. The food was good, service was friendly. This was our first visit but won't be our last.

Here's what you get at the Village: a traditional, local seafood meal. The flounder, oysters (raw and cooked), scallops, clams, and other seafood dishes and soups are very good. Their oysters are hard to beat. I like their scallops as well. We stayed on the island for 2 weeks and had plenty of other dining experiences during that time. The... More

After a couple of disappointing experiences with other local seafood restaurants, our experience here was a very nice surprise. Everything seemed to just fit nicely together like a pleasant dining experience should. The oysters were small but very tasty. The coconut shrimp were sinfully good. Our service was excellent. We lucked out and got a table by the window so... More
