A new tradition

We have been to Chincoteague twice and both times we went to AJ's. The meal was great as was the service. They make you feel at home. It was also in walking distance to our hotel - bonus.

Many locals will tell you this place is a 1970's, overpriced, mediocre seafood restaurant. They are correct ! Our meal was horrible, bland and the main course was served on plastic bowls !!!!! Yes, really. If you check the reviews you will see that not one real restaurant is listed in the top 6 places to eat on this tiny... More

We had a delicious meal on New Year's Eve. It was their last night before closing for winter vacation so they were out of some items but we still had an excellent bouillabaisse and seafood pasta. One of the few restaurants on Chincoteague that also offers plenty of fresh salads and vegetables. We left stuffed and happy.

We were there on a weeknight in the dead of winter and didn't expect much. But it was quite a surprise; local oysters, scallops "right off the boat this morning" and perfectly seared, yellow fin tuna and homemade key lime pie. Don't know what the atmosphere is like in peak summer season, but for two tired and hungry hikers this... More

Food was very good, service was great! Very nice ambiance. A little pricy. However the Skinny Colada was awesome! Will go back for that!

The parking lot was crowded so we decided to stop on a cold and rainy November day. The local diners were there for good comfort food and they were not disappointed. The soup was hot and yummy. We would go back and recommend this restaurant.

My friend and I ate at AJ's it was the best meal of my trip. I had grilled Mako shark,it was delicious. Went back the next day and the special was grilled tuna, but my server said it was Mako shark. I said that's great I will have it again, and again it was superb.

Pulled into parking lot, employee sitting outside drinking a bottle of beer. Special yellow fin tuna. No seasoning at all. Couldn't believe it. Baked potato size of an apple. So disappointed. Off season gives you time to really see these places. Should have listened to the locals and not have gone here.

Met up with old friends and went to AJ's. They had a great selection of dishes with something a bit unusual, like the dressing or the soups. We had four meals, each outstanding. The had senior meals that were suppose to be half the size, they certainly were not. I still brought home a take home box. We sat and... More

We had a nice lunch here. I ordered and enjoyed the flounder sandwich and my wife had the crab cake sandwich. Both came with homemade Cajun chips, also good. the service was fine and the wait staff was attentive. Very tasty.
