Earlier this month we stopped at AJ's for appetizers, and found that they served a special appetizer menu for two, which included oysters rockefeller, clams casino, and caesar salad, and artichoke-stuffed mushrooms. Those were just three of a wider array of appetizers, one from group A, group B, C for $25. All the appetizers were excellent, as was some coconut-coated... More

For several years we have made AJ's a must side trip from our Ocean City vacation. It has always been outstanding. This year was somewhat disappointing and maybe my fault. My wife ordered the fried oyster sandwich as always. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller which I have enjoyed before. My wife's fried oysters were perfect - plump, tasty oysters which... More

We drove into Chincoteague to see the wild ponies and ended up at AJ's. It was the middle of the afternoon on the Friday August 29th at the start of Labor Day weekend. We had the restaurant all to ourselves. All tables have cloth table cloths including the outside tables. We ordered raw oysters on the half shell - delicious,... More

This was my second visit to the area having been here last year. I ate at AJ's then as well so this review includes that visit. This is a solid choice for seafood and a nice steak. Of the three times I have been here I have never had a problem. With that said my talks with others who live... More

Staying in Chincoteague with our dog this time offered us few dining options. Didn't matter. This is our favorite restaurant on the island. Lucky, we were able to bring the pet lab and dine in a lovely garden setting under arbors trailing with wisteria. The creek with egrets lounging was right next to us. We have to go for our... More

This was a pretty little place. Right on the edge of the refuge. We sat outside overlooking the creek. Our waiter made us feel like family. The food and the wine was wonderful.....the perfect place to kick back, enjoy the fruits of the sea (or the land!) and sip some fine wine...............

Had lunch today w husband & daughter food was very good but portions very small. The oyster sandwich & crab cake sandwich were more like sliders than a sandwich

We experienced none of the negative aspects on which some others have commented. On a busy September Saturday night, the food, service and ambiance were more than acceptable. This is Chincoteague, after all. Our reservation was honored, the waitress was friendly and informative, and the local seafood was very good.
