Nice place

The best of the three dinners we had in Chincoteague (Village and Bill's second and third place respectively). Nice atmosphere, nice view of the creek and friendly waitstaff. raw oysters good and crab cakes good (but not great - that is reserved for Edgewater in Annapolis, MD). Also cheapest of... read more

Very nice place, very friendly service. I had a crab soup - delicious, n shrimp scampi. Nice. Hubby had crab Alfredo all well presented with nice toasted bread n great salads. Would definitely recommend.

We called ahead to make reservations and were told we could just walk in. We were seated a very large table with a window overlooking the blooming dogwood trees. The service was good and the interior is very comfortable. We both had apps Oysters Rockefeller and escargot both were good. The escargot came with the proper utensils as they are... More

Spent 4 nights on Chincoteague and this was our favorite place for dinner! Nice atmosphere, great food and service. I had the fresh monk fish grilled as a kabob, husband had fresh flounder with crabmeat and shrimp. Ceasar salads were fresh and delicious, too. Highly recommend if you're on Chincoteague Island!

Despite the aged exterior, AJ's is a pleasant, comfortable place with attentive service. Most important is the food, notably the numerous fresh local seafood items. At a recent lunch, I had a wonderful salad with char grilled monkfish, for $12. Not huge, but a good lunch portion, and delicious. Get the hose made artichoke salad dressing if you can, not... More

We ate here the night we stayed on Chincoteague Island. I had sauteed scallops. My husband had mahi. We were both very happy with our meals. Service was good.

very attractive dining area, and mostly adult oriented. Unfortunately the food is not up to par. The filet of flounder was small, thin and tasteless. While the oysters were fresh and salty, the rest of the menu disappointed. And did I mention the price? Quite expensive for Chincoteague and you can do much better elsewhere

We came to AJ's after a full Saturday of exploring the island. It was okay, but not worth the price. The crab imperial was served in a metal dish, and therefore was cold by the 3rd bite. The sautéed scallops were overcooked and served in another metal dish with what tate like beef broth. Baked potatoes were unavailable by 830... More

The food was great, the atmosphere was great and this just happened to be their first night of the start of the season to be open. We were so lucky! We love to eat here for dinner and always make this one of our regular stops when we are visiting the island.

We have been to Chincoteague twice and both times we went to AJ's. The meal was great as was the service. They make you feel at home. It was also in walking distance to our hotel - bonus.
