Consistently delivers excellent seafood

Have bought seafood all over the island but keep returning to Gary Howards when I need the freshest crabs, clams and oysters.

Gary Howard is the place to go for fresh seafood to cook at home. They have an excellent selection and it is always very fresh.

Get them to cook you a meal. Pickup fresh seafood to cook yourself. Either way, it'll be great (unless you stink at cooking)

Have been here twice now and enjoyed each trip. Got the soft shell sammich with some sides. The fries are just okay, but some of the other fried goodies are very well done (tasty). Not too expensive either compared to some main island eateries. If you have trouble finding it just turn to go to Captain Zack's and keep driving... More

Great seafood, best oysters you can eat , can get cooked dinners to go, everything good about this. We go several times during the week we are in Chincoteague , and bring oysters and clams home with us.

This used to be my go-to place to get oysters, but not so much anymore. Admittedly, it is off season when I visit looking for bivalves, but I can usually find them on the island. Over my last three trips to Gary Howard they had no oysters for sale. Bummer. Their sandwiches are good, but expensive!

We took home $100 worth of seafood and realized it was a little pricey when we unpacked the cooler and saw what we got, BUT it was fresh and very good--well worth treating yourself if you live inland. The staff was excellent and packed the cooler for us. Just bring your own cooler (buy one at Steve's II gas station... More

Soft shell crab was very good. Popcorn shrimp also delicious. Onion rings okay. Not sure why they make them as they here in VA. Much better in NE. I feel they are frozen in this area. Fish was fresh, well cooked although did not care for the corn. Fish in the case looked great!
