Description: Sea Star Cafe Gourmet Carry Out is locally owned and operated! We opened on Main Street in 2000 and moved to our new location on Maddox Blvd. in 2013. Serving gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads, vegetarian & vegan fare as well as homemade soups, sides and baked goods. All of our food is MADE FRESH to ORDER by the 2 OWNERS..... everyday all the time! Our soups, sauces, hummus, baked goods etc. are made by us right here! We intended Sea Star to be carryout but do have some outdoor seating limited to 3 picnic tables as regulated by Virginia Department of Health. Check us out!

Having been to Chincoteague last year and this year for 2 week trips each this has become my favorite lunch spot for a sandwich. While I am not a vegetarian I do eat vegetarian as often as possible and there are several great options here. The wraps and soups are both excellent. My only quibble is that during the busy... More

We stumbled upon this little diamond our first trip through, which was just a drive thru the area. This time we stayed and I wasn't happy until I'd had my lunch from the Sea Star. Great made to order sandwiches - off the menu or custom made. You could easily share one, they are so huge. Fresh made bread; homemade... More

This place is a nice change of pace from the more traditional Chincoteague meal options. The sandwiches are decent. The hummus was excellent. They have a large variety of vegetarian sandwiches and several salad options.

In an island full of overwrought, heavy-in-your-stomach, dishes, Sea Star sandwiches is an elegant, delicious alternative. It's sandwiches are all thoughtfully conceived and a perfect balance of flavor. I highly recommend the fresh shrimp salad croissant - the dash of lemon rind & dill to the shrimp adds a spark of refreshment that makes the sandwich pure joy. Beware of... More

Everything was fresh and delicious. The cold cuts were excellent quality and they had interesting sandwich choices - which made feeding 6 different people an easy task. The only thing that might make it even better would be a slightly better bread selection. Mine was supposed to be sourdough, but tasted like regular white bread. The filling was so good,... More

They have great sandwiches and salads. Their shrimp salad is the best on the island. And soups are real tasty too.

Takeout as good as any city sandwich shop in a town with few deli type options. Good place to get picnic lunch for the beach, or eat outside in their fenced patio. We also enjoyed their fresh fruit salad and desserts.

After a bus tour of the refuge, we stopped at this cafe for a quick bite since we were starving! Well , the sandwiches and wraps were fresh and tasty; however the long wait was kind of annoying. It took us an hour from the time we arrived till we received our order. Being a vegetarian, I do appreciate that... More
