Description: Sea Star Cafe Gourmet Carry Out is locally owned and operated! We opened on Main Street in 2000 and moved to our new location on Maddox Blvd. in 2013. Serving gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads, vegetarian & vegan fare as well as homemade soups, sides and baked goods. All of our food is MADE FRESH to ORDER by the 2 OWNERS..... everyday all the time! Our soups, sauces, hummus, baked goods etc. are made by us right here! We intended Sea Star to be carryout but do have some outdoor seating limited to 3 picnic tables as regulated by Virginia Department of Health. Check us out!

Sea Star Cafe features healthy-ish sandwiches with lots of vegitarian and vegan options. Because there aren't many such options on the island, I am guessing many thankful visitors have rewarded this sandwich shop with high praise. While I was happy to have a healthier option, I wasn't bowled over by their food. Compared to other similar sandwich shops I've been... More

Stopped by for lunch. The roasted tomato and red pepper soup was awesome. Great flavor, served piping hot. I also had a panini special with turkey, roasted red peppers on olive bread that was great. It is take out - so no place to eat except picnic tables outside, still awesome in a cold march day.

We went one night, and I had a salad with shrimp salad on top. AMAZING! The salad was fresh and plentiful, and the shrimp salad was fantastic - not mayonnaise-y, but fresh with dill and lemon. It was so good that we went back the next day, and my 5 year old son wanted shrimp salad for his lunch! I... More

I'm no professional food critic by any means but the sandwiches that this place makes will forever be on my taste buds. Prices are a bit high but you most certainly get what you pay for. The quality and flavor that the Sea Star puts out is unrivaled on Chincoteague.

Literally the best sandwiches I've ever had. I go there every day during my Chincoteague vacations. They have the crispest lettuce, the best sides, and delicious iced tea. Grab some on your way to the beach!

We loved the simplicity of this very fine little restaurant. Outside tables were great to enjoy our sandwiches and desserts. Hope to get back again. Wish they were closer to home.

It's a gamble going to a resort town during the off season, but we were fortunate to find not only take-out food, but vegan take-out food. The Sea Star has excellent fare, made fresh to order, and some creative, delicious meal options. It's all take-out (unless it's warm enough to sit in the picnic area outside), but don't let that... I was only in Chincoteague for about 3 days, but I swear in that time I learned their idea of a vegetable was french fries, or a baked potato, and if you were lucky enough to to get anything green on your plate, it was swimming in butter or cream. Finding this place, on my last day of course, was... More
