Great service.

We ate at the Crab Shack in June 2014 during our visit to Chincoteague. The service was great, Alisha was our waitress and she was very attentive. It was good food, large portions, and we would eat there again.

I was camping on the Maryland side of Assateague Island, and I wanted to see the Virginia side, especially the town of Chincoteague. I had such a great time visiting, and of course, I got hungry. This looked like a great little place, and there were several cars parked outside. It's not a huge restaurant, but they did have a... More

I loved the crab imperial. It was made with just the right ingredients. The desert was made in some local atmosphere nearby they said and it was wonderful for apple pie. They are easy to overlook, get there early.

I've been here a few times. I had the shack burger there this summer, with sweet potato waffle fries, and it was awesome! It was huge and delicious. More recently, I had a fried oyster dinner platter with hush puppies and sweet potato fries. The oysters were just so-so (the Village next door had much better ones) and the sweet... More

We went to this place for lunch our first day in Chincoteague. I was really excited based on other reviews. I was a little disappointed. The food was ok but when you compared it to the other places we went, it just did not compare. The iced tea was stale, they were out of their famous clam chowder, they had... More

We were looking forward to a delicious seafood meal on our vacation. Unfortunately this was not the place. The food was average at best. Would not recommend if you're looking for that fresh seafood taste.

On a short visit to Chincoteague, I was looking for a good seafood restaurant for dinner with my husband. Based on other reviews, I decided to try the Crab Shack and so glad that I did. It is a casual and relaxing place where you can dine inside or outside. The soft-spoken and knowledgeable George was our waiter. He took... More

Came by on the first night of our visit. We were seated fairly quickly. Turned out they were out of several items that should definitely have been one of their staples, like oysters! Shrimp was heavily breaded like a manufactued frozen item. Not a true seafood taste in what is touted as a seafood town. Would not recommend.

We had the BEST crab I have eaten in YEARS a couple of weeks ago here. It came as an appetizer called Caribbean Cocktail I think. Plump, sweet chunks of crab served with salsa fresca, sliced avocado, and warm pita triangles. More than enough for two. The crab of my dreams, sweet and succulent. My family was in the seafood... We arrived at the Crab Shack for dinner about 30 minutes before the restaurant closed. Normally this would make for tired waiters and hostesses. Fortunately, this was not the case because it was our first experience with East Coast crab. We had never eaten Bluecrab; we didn't know what a soft crab was. Renée and George took the time to...
