This was our second or third trip to Maya, having enjoyed it previously. It is surprisingly one of the only "Southern" restaurants in C'ville. We ate inside, still being cool outside, in their west-most room away from the bar and downstairs, facing the street. It was NOISY as hell; two professors came in and didn't realize they were not in... More

Went for a girls night and the food was great, the service was friendly and I loved the small plate option. If you are in the area it's worth a visit.

My favorite Charlottesville restaurant to both eat and drink at the bar. The main bartenders, Ted and Mark, are so welcoming and they pour excellent cocktails. And the food is very good too. I often order the cornmeal crusted fried oysters as they are both fantastic and gluten-free. Best oysters north of New Orleans.

We stumbled across this place by accident. We thought by the name that it would be mexican, but was glad it wasn't, just because we weren't in the mood for that. It is actually named after the owner's daughter. Really good food!!! A bit pricy, but one thing I don't mind paying for is good food! The service was also... More

Wow. Just wow. We chose this based on location and recommendation and are so glad we did! Delicious food with a Southern flair. Everything we had was excellent! We sat near the bar which was quite crowded (it was a Saturday night) and I would recommend trying to sit in another area as it got quite loud. Our server was... More

We were first invited to Mayas for a wine-tasting dinner with friends. The food was really excellent and made to follow the diferent local Virginia wines that were served at the tasting. As a matter of fact the food was also locally produced. A wonderful experience. We therefore decided to go back for a family dinner a few days later.... More

IF you can't have Thanksgiving dinner at home, then this is a place to go. It's kinda plain on the outside and sorta plain, but chic on the inside. But... we knew we were gonna have a great experience when we were getting taken to our table... and our server said happily... 'you're with me!'... as we walked by. Sara... More

We had a 4pm reservation and they had a difficult time with seating customers at the right tables. They seemed to be very confused. I ordered salmon and it was good. My wife ordered rib roast and it was over cooked and had horse radish which wasn't disclosed. She also had corn chowder which was beef soup and no corn???... More

We walked by the restaurant and thought it looked very quiet, very glad we went inside! Greeted by friendly staff, sat down and once again got welcomed by a very sweet and skilled server. She helped us with the few questions we had with great knowledge of the food and from there we were in for a treat. The restaurants... More
