Consistently delicious- and open on Mondays

Even the most basic chicken is delicious at Orzo. They are always serving great food and are busy.Their pasta, shrimp, and fish dishes are terrific. And they're good at handling allergies.

Graduation weekend in Charlottesville for the University of Virginia. Thousands of grads, parents and every other form of relative and friend descend on this city. We made reservations well in advance for dinner at Orzo, one of our favorite spots for fine food in Charlottesville. At the last minute the graduation event time was changed due to inclement weather and... More

Food was good. Doing very brisk business on the graduation weekend. Service was good but could have been more prompt. Awesome Mussel and Ceviche starters. Fresh Halibut and Salmon. Not sure if pesto enhanced the halibut and salmon. The most disappointing part was the wine that was " the special: an Italian-French " : 2012 Embruix de Vall Llach a... More

I will start with the good points! The ambiance is great! Food was delicious. BUT, there was no attention to customers. We were not offered bread and when we requested it, the manager dropped it off. It was COLD. Other customers got Parmesan cheese with their food but we were never offered any. The girl bussing the table dropped off... More

Lovely urban ambience. Seamless efficient service. Local, inventive cuisine. Recommend the risotto primavera and the warm beet salad. Chef special the night we visited was linguini with morels and ramps that was one of the best dishes we ever tasted.

Last night I had the shrimp and chorizo on polenta. It was fantastic. They have a terrific wine list with amazing reds. We love dining at Orzo.

On a Monday night, there were pasta specials and the regular menu. My friend had bruschetta as an app and the hanger steak as her entree and enjoyed them tremendously. I ordered the shrimp scampi which came with a salad for $22.00. Both were excellent but then the restaurant filled up. One whole side of the room had a long... More

Hours limited to lunch and evening, in line with location and traffic. Service was excellent and menu items unique, ingredients from local suppliers. Vegetarian menu available, though not of plant strong compliance (heavy oil). Recommend.

We enjoyed dinner with our UVA student. We had a reservation but were running late as we were driving in from out of town. The host kindly called and held our table. The restaurant has a parking lot which is convenient. All our meals were delicious including the linguine and clams, herbed lamb, salmon, and beet salad. They have a... More

These folks do farm-to-table exceptionally well and create extremely interesting meals. We shared what amounted to an octopus cassoulet (VERY GOOD but can't remember its official menu name) and the roasted brussels sprouts. We would do it again.
