Unusually good food for the price

Decor is open, industrial modern with view into the kitchen. Our waitress, bus person, and server were personable and friendly without being intrusive. Food was the highlight. Nice featured wine, full bodied and heady. The Frito Misto was really first rate, lightly coated. At first blush we were... read more

We went during Restaurant Week. Food was very good, as usual. Waitress professional and friendly. But it took two hours for three courses!!! The kitchen looked understaffed. Not worth that much time.

In Charlottesville for a serious medical condition at UVA hospital we were looking for a pleasant place to eat on a Wednesday night. Wandered down West Main st and stumbled on Orzo. We were pleasantly greeted, seated and waited upon. The food is creative, interesting and delicious. The decor warm and attractive and it is easy to hear your dining... More

4.3 stars. First time eating here and fortunate to make reservations for fixed price menu. Very crowded, but we were promptly seated. Very chic interior, depending on where you are seated. A lot to choose from on the restaurant week menu, which was better than other cville restaurant menus. I had the prosciutto bruschetta appetizer and the mixed salad. Both... More

After spending the day at Ashlawn-Highlands and Monticello, we decided to have dinner at Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar. The atmosphere was comfortable and the wait staff friendly. Most of all, we were amazed at the meal--delicious!!! As a Washingtonian and U.S. traveler, this was perhaps the best meal we've every had!! After a yummy bowl of butternut squash soup... More

We went for New Year's Eve dinner this year and it was bad. You can read my past review on here and I have NEVER had a bad meal, but this time it was. Not just mine, but our whole party of 4. Our reservation was for 5:30, so the place was not very crowded. We were seated immediately and... More

I'm an Orzo fan. They take reservations. They offer a varied menu. The service is reliable. And you can dine at the bar. I've eaten there several times now, and have not been disappointed. The pork chop and polenta was delicious and more than I could eat…and it was fab as lunch the following day! Seating advice: if possible, ask... More

A wonderful treat in the heart of Charlottesville, surrounded by more yummy food purveyors than the law should allow. The cuisine is excellent. My wife, seeing the trout being eaten by the woman at the next table, was encouraged to try it by our neighbor, and she didn't regret it. I had the Pasta Bolognese, a truly delicious entree. A... Superb food and atmosphere. Very cosmopolitan. We had mussels and butternut squash soup as appetizers. My wife cooks a fantastic Butternut Squash soup at home using fresh produce purchased from Amish road stands. Orzo's was on par but with a more sophisticated twist. For main course we had local trout and grilled octopus. Trout was sublime. Octopus was excellent -... More

Just back from a terrific dinner at Orzo. Our children had given us a gift certificate, else we may not have tried it this early in our resettling to Charlottesville. What a wonderful surprise. For starters, we shared Roasted Butternut Squash Soup and Crispy Calamari Fritto. The menu didn't do justice to the calamari: the breading was light and not... More
