I'm an Orzo fan. They take reservations. They offer a varied menu. The service is reliable. And you can dine at the bar. I've eaten there several times now, and have not been disappointed. The pork chop and polenta was delicious and more than I could eat…and it was fab as lunch the following day! Seating advice: if possible, ask... More

A wonderful treat in the heart of Charlottesville, surrounded by more yummy food purveyors than the law should allow. The cuisine is excellent. My wife, seeing the trout being eaten by the woman at the next table, was encouraged to try it by our neighbor, and she didn't regret it. I had the Pasta Bolognese, a truly delicious entree. A... Superb food and atmosphere. Very cosmopolitan. We had mussels and butternut squash soup as appetizers. My wife cooks a fantastic Butternut Squash soup at home using fresh produce purchased from Amish road stands. Orzo's was on par but with a more sophisticated twist. For main course we had local trout and grilled octopus. Trout was sublime. Octopus was excellent -... More

Just back from a terrific dinner at Orzo. Our children had given us a gift certificate, else we may not have tried it this early in our resettling to Charlottesville. What a wonderful surprise. For starters, we shared Roasted Butternut Squash Soup and Crispy Calamari Fritto. The menu didn't do justice to the calamari: the breading was light and not... More

Four of us enjoyed the Fall Dinner Menu at Orzo. Our choices included Organic Faroe Island Salmon and Braised Colorado Lamb which I didn’t taste but looked fantastic and were highly praised. I paired the Down Branch Farm mixed Lettuces with Roasted Butternut Squash Soup and Bold Rock hard cider. The soup was light and had the perfect combination of... More

Orzo has tremendous food, good service and a very good wine list. However, it is strange that a place that bills itself as a wine bar does not have red wine glasses. All wine is served in traditional white wine glasses and this detracts from the selection wines that are offered. Other than that, you should pay this place a... More

Cozy and comfortable and always good fresh food. Perfect sized portions beautifully presented. Can be loud when very busy because it is small, I recommend tables toward the back under the stairs, much more quiet and private. Bathroom is out in the hall of Main Street market shops....be sure to check out the other shops after your good meal. Nice... More

Boy were we pleased with this place. Have been to many Charlottesville places in the last 4 years with our daughter a student there, and only came here as a "second choice"... but what a delightful surprise. Every single dish was a gem, interesting and carefully prepared, perfectly matching an interesting Spanish Chardonnay, and served with casual but very skillful... More

Loved the food and restaurant. I had a starter of 4 raw oysters prepared differently for each one; lovely. Then a salad and the calamari which was to die for. My husband and son shared the calamari then had entrees (forget what they were). Good wine by the glass and wine list. Only complaints is it was too loud (we... More

This is a very nice restaurant in Cville. We arrived early for our reservation and they were super accommodating and nice. We were seated immediately upstairs.... We all ordered different items. I had the lamb over orzo ... I really liked it. several others had the salmon and liked it. One in our party had the housemade ravioli with capers... More
