I can't believe that Orzo has such a low rating. It's one of the very best restaurants in C'ville, with superior food, great service and a pleasant atmosphere. I also can't believe at some of the restaurants rated higher than Orzo. I'll not mention names but it looks like a decimal point got mislaid.

When I can't choose between appetizers and therefore order a couple of small plates, I am in heaven. Chef Tommy is truly gifted and the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. Orzo has a warm Mediterranean atmosphere and a good wine selection.

We have gone here on many occasions and had lunch and at the time of our last visit, we had dinner. I always enjoy their soup and their staff.

I've eaten here seven times at least. Sometimes with my wife, other times with friends. Some meals were lunch, others were dinner. The service is absolutely beyond terrible. The servers are beyond clueless, ignoring tables for long periods of time, and failing to provide anything resembling good service. Every single time I've been here I've been left standing at the... We celebrated a birthday at Orzo and had a wonderful experience. A lovely bottle of wine, excellent appetizers (Mussels and charcuterie were awesome). The experience continued thru the main course and desserts. The trout and the salmon were particularly noteworthy. The pot de creme and the panna cotta were exceptional! Our server was superb - she gave great advice and... More

Orzo is a wine bar but really punches above its weight. We had braised pork cheeks and the food was excellent. We went there during graduation weekend for UVA and took in three bottles of wine. The corkage is $25 per bottle (a little high I thought) but the owner came out, asked its us about the wine and made... More

If you are willing to wait for a LONG time to be served, go for it. The food is OK - not great, not good either. They keep changing chefs and this may be why. Last time we were there we had to wait over 45 minutes for a burger... really? Another time they made us wait at the door... More

My business associate & I chose this restaurant walking down the street from our hotel, We stepped in to see the menu & got lured into a dark back room. The waitress suggested Octopus as an appetizer & we tried it. It was absolutely awful. The wine was from the bottom of the warm bottle & over priced. The main... More

It is billed as a Mediterranean restaurant but I think they are just confused. For example, why serve New England cod? Food was good, but not memorable. Service was okay. A bit of a chippy attitude by our waitress. Hummus was the best part. Looked more promising than it was. Bathroom is a shared public one with the adjoining market.... More

Thomas is a gifted chef. I love that I can never decide which starter to have because they are all so appealing. The flank steak is the most tender I have ever had. We shared the pot de creme for dessert and it was fabulous. We dine there at least twice a month. The hands on approach by the owners... More
