We first discovered in October. We were looking forward to returning, and so second night in Charlottesville we did, and were knocked out again. Service is real, everybody works for each other. Food is excellent. This time we enjoyed Lamb Shepherds Pie, a lamb skewer dish, and ribeye steak. Good choice of beer, champagne by glass. Attractive ambience. Plan to... More

Out-of-towner, passing by and looking for a place for lunch. I drove around downtown for awhile and finally decided to try something different. I had the Sadza Cakes and they were amazing! Service was friendly and efficient. I'll definitely stop here again if I pass by! More

It turned out to be much more than the pub we expected although had a great selection of beer. The atmosphere was so warm with couches and white table clothes and friendly staff that we stayed for dinner. The samosas, lamb... More

Well, I am sure that the food in South Africa is not quite what you get at Shebeen's, but it does offer a different fair. There is an outdoor patio in nice weather. The service is nice. The wine selection good. More

My husband had never had lamb before eating at Shebeen. He loved the lamb pot dish he had. I had grilled salmon which was excellent. My niece had a burger and others had various other dishes. All were excellent. Excellent atmosphere as well, with beautiful hand hewn wood beams in the ceiling. My beer drinking dining companions said the selection... More

Great food from burgers to lamb shank in Pinot sauce...just across the street from the Omni. Favorite spot for footballers to watch the World Cup in the bar! More
