We've been to Zocalo a few times, the first time being a few years ago. After first time, I was raving about the duck entrée I had for weeks. But since then, we have been a bit disappointed each time. Our service was awful the other night. The waiter brought our wine bottle with the glasses, but didn't open the... More

We spent three years in Spain and frequently return. Not just me, but my entire family of four adult children and adult grand children. We really enjoy the tapas and the flavors of new Spanish cuisine. We all found our way into Zo Ca Lo graduation at UVA weekend at and found the "entradas" and "platos principales" to be very... We ate outdoors and enjoyed the street musicians. Our various dishes ranged from good to excellent. Special, though, was the service. Our food was late in coming - we were enjoying ourselves so much that we didn't notice that, but the waitress apologized to us for the wait and to make it up, the restaurant comped us a second round... Zo Co La bills itself as “contemporary Latin, with innovative visits from Spain, Mexico and South America. All very good. There were four of us for dinner. The two fellows had the excellent pork shanks – succulent and very tasty served on a bed of lentils. The ladies both had the pan-roasted rockfish on a crispy risotto cake and topped... More

I am gluten free due to allergies and usually find gluten free food in restaurants to be bland but ZO.CA.LO's food ignited my taste buds! The food came out in a timely manner even though they were very busy. The wait staff was so pleasant and served with impeccable service. I had the steamed mussels and the salmon with smoked... More

Had a very pleasant dinner. More reasonably priced than I expected. Loved the outdoor seating. Indoors is too loud for me but we were lucky with the weather. The bean and corn rellano was excellent. Service great too. Thanks!

Wow, did we luck out after reading the reviews on here we decided to make reservations before going to the Paramount Theater to see Lilly Tomlin. We didn't realize that this restaurant was literally next door to the theatre. The design of the restaurant is contempary/ industrial. Most people were dressed casual, very nice atmosphere! It seemed that many people... More

The food and wine were great, the atmosphere was a bit too industrial for our liking. I had the duck, he had the vegetarian chili relano. His was SO SO SO much better. The fusion cooking in the relano was great. The duck was not as inspired as thought it could have been. Probably a great spot for a happy... More
