Milan's terrific Indian food is particularly popular during their lunch buffet--sometimes the lines to get through the buffet are pretty long, but it's definitely worth it. There's a great variety of food at the buffet, and I've never tried anything I didn't like. Some of the best Tandoori chicken I've had, along with several other Indian restaurant standards and even... more

Food quality has deteriorated in the last few years. Food is less fresh, and quality has deteriorated once they overtook their competitor Maharaja Restauran Onion Kulcha bread is often soggy. Benghain Bhartha is watery and too oily more

This is easily one of the best Indian food in the US. I dare to say that it is pretty authentic, and very comparable to what one would get in Asia. more

The lamb and chicken biryanis were just outstanding. We ordered medium-hot, which was still on the nuclear side. If you can't handle the heat, go for the low or medium heat. I'd try medium next time. Definitely dip it in the sauce with an order of naan. Also enjoyed the mango shake. This is ranked high for Charlottesville and deserves... more

My first true introduction to Indian cuisine was when I was a child and I don't remember much about it. My second introduction was traveling in the UK and Milan marks my third introduction (if you can be introduced three times). Very, very good. The reviewer below compares it to New York and San Francisco, which is a bit unfair.... more

Milan is perfectly fine Indian food, but nothing to write home about. It's the best Indian food in Charlottesville, but that's not saying much. Nothing like what's available in New York, San Francisco, or pretty much any major city. And definitely not the second best restaurant in Charlottesville!!! more

After reading all the rave reviews, we could not wait to enjoy Milan and it exceeded our expectations. Not since our last visit to London have we enjoyed Indian cuisine of this quality. The restaurant itself has a quiet and serene atmosphere, which allows for conversation and, yes, even a very romantic evening. As mentioned, you will find customers of... more

Milan Indian is an excellent choice for diners who want to eat family-style or choose their own individual combination dinners. The portions are plentiful. Food is cooked to order and to the spice-level to your liking, such as "mild, medium" or "hot". I chose the combination vegetarian dinner and chose a medium-hot spice level. It was spicy, indeed, but with... more
