What a neat little spot

Stopped in this quaint converted gas station on our way from Monticello to Ash Lawn and were not pleasantly surprised by doing so........, but blown away with the creativity of the food offerings (Vive le Petit!), the outstanding variety of local and regional food products available for purchase (we felt compelled to do some of our 2015 Christmas shopping early!)... First off, the building and the restoration is to die for. It's super inviting, when we drove up on a cool, sunny early December day they had a fire pit and outdoor heater going with chairs outside. The interior is very small but we got a table right after ordering, and shared with another couple. The coffee was perfect and... More

We loved this little sandwich shop which was between Monticello and Ash Lawn. It is in a cute building and had outside picnic tables that were great for the family.

We found this awesome, converted "old school" gas station after a full day at Monticello and devoured our superb, artisan grilled cheese sandwiches - one with ham and one with fresh cranberries. Sitting outside with our sandwiches and hot cider in the afternoon sun was the perfect setting to relax at the end of the day. The owners/employees were very... More

We have wanted to stop at this place near the Monroe Ashlawn property for years but it was closed on previous occasions. This Sunday it was open and we discovered friendly enthusiastic young owners. We had lunched so just had drinks this time, delicious hot cider, good coffee, and tea. But we saw cheese items on the menu we would... More

It's deceptively nondescript when you round the bend and see this little way station, but don't be deceived. The food is artisanly well made and quite delicious. On a sunny day it's the place for l;unch after visiting Monticello.

We stopped here for lunch after touring Monticello. What a great little find. The structure and restaurant are charming. The food was very, very good. As someone else said, they are excellent artisan sandwiches. The place is cozy so you may have to be patient to get a table but it's worth the wait. Quality food in a charming atmosphere.

This small market was such a treat after a day of apple picking, donuts, and generally not great for you food. There aren't a ton of choices so for picky eaters it might not be your place. The staff were great and even gave us a sample of cheese straws for our little one to munch (so good she screamed... More
