Had a great breakfast there. Nice setting - a table next to the large windows offers a great view over the pond. Very attentive and accommodative staff. Food was delicious and options considerable. Kid friendly too. Strict hours and not huge so reservations are recommended.

We decided too take a ride to Charlottesville to see the fall foliage and stopped by The Boars Head for lunch at the Old Mill Room. It had been years since we have visited them and found it to be a wonderful day. We chose to take in the buffet and everything was just perfect. The servers were helpful, knowledgeable,... More

Very good service, lovely atmosphere, and average to above average food. It was wine month in Virginia and we drank a lovely local wine from Barboursville vinyard, expertly served and described. The food, OK, not memorable, I really don't remember anything standing out. The room and reception were wonderfully authentic and warm, loved the big beams and lovely fireplace. We... More

Food was very well prepared and the staff very attentive. We had the beef and the pork tenderloin, and both were excellent.

The Old Mill Room has it all - great wait staff, wonderful ambiance, quality wines and absolutely delicious food. We took a visitor from Amsterdam and she raved about the entire evening - and the food was mouth-watering good even as I write about it almost 3 months later. I received an email today from our visitor (who has returned... More

I ate there three times -- dinner, breakfast and lunch on a recent business trip. The breakfast and lunch choices we made were off of a buffet which was tasty and quick. Dinner, however, is the real opportunity for fine dining. They had excellent appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. The bread pudding was authentically Southern, and perhaps the best that... More

Douglas, the waiter was exceptionally good and made our romantic dinner even better. He gave us complimentary appetizers and champagne along with delicious after dinner chocolates. The tuna was amazing, and the atmosphere was elegant and romantic. Definitely recommend for a dinner date.

Well, it's a sure sign that time is moving on when your daughter begins suggesting fine dining restaurants and her first suggestion was a hit! Visiting at UVA for the weekend, we needed a couple of places to dine and the Old Mill Room at the Boar's Head was the number one suggestion for the three of us. We arrived... More
