On weekends, Bluegrass has long, long lines for breakfast. The place is small. Better to go during the week. Parking is a bit of a problem and they only take cash or checks. No credit cards. That said, the offerings are delicious and unique. The biscuits are a meal in themselves and there is plenty for both meat lovers and... more

They do not take credit card, and you need the glasses to read all the post-it notes around the dinning room. Do not sit here, do not do this, do not do that, read this, not that and on and on and on.................... GREAT food, pretty fast servise, not a friendly environment, but it is good food. Corned beef and... more

This was a great place for an afternoon brunch. We found it by chance after parking in the big garage downtown. It looked crowded. We were not disappointed. You will not be talking about this for years -- it is good plain breakfast food -- but you'll definitely like the meal. Ask for the real maple syrup! more

I read several reviews on trip advisor that indicated this was a good spot in Charlottesville for breakfast. I had better than average expectations that were ultimately unfulfilled. They obviously have a local following as we had to wait about 20 minutes for one of the few tables, I think around a dozen in total. It is a small place.... more

My husband and I had breakfast here July 4, 2008. Great Food, Great Price, nice location downtown near Water Street Garage, great waitress, small seating, others talk about waiting, but we did not wait at all. No one downtown, maybe because 4th of July. Would go back again, would highly recommend. more

I love this breakfast place with the mismatched mugs, quilts, and bluegrass music. Fun, funky, and full of great comfort food, the line can be long to get in. It's worth it, although I recommend going as early as possible. Good service, too, which is not a given here in Charlottesville. more

Generally somewhat crowded but the corned beef hash is well worth any wait. more

Bluegrass Grill & Bakery is a place to get a hearty brunch in Charlottesville. We had to wait about 20 minutes until a table opened up on a Sunday afternoon about one hour before closing time. We ordered and got our food quickly. The food was hot, well seasoned and just as described on the menu. Unfortunately, they had sold... more
