...and I rarely say "Wow" about any breakfast place! We got there early on a Sunday, thank goodness, because the line was long by 9:30. There are a TON of unique breakfast entrees to choose from. I had the Smokey Joe, and the bacon jam made it really interesting. My family enjoyed their pancakes and specialty omelets. Despite the place... More

This place has such a great and imaginative breakfast menu. Everything from your basic eggs and bacon, to some really fun breakfast sandwiches. I tried the Smokey Joe sandwich and was very happy with it. My husband had an eggs Benedict type dish with salmon which was also very good. I noticed several vegetarian dishes on the menu. The place... More

When the biscuits and eggs are perfectly cooked, it's a really, really great place to have breakfast. This last visit I had delicious eggs, but the biscuit was overcooked and dry (I usually love the biscuits from here and was really looking forward to it). On previous visits the omelettes have been very oily, but this visit they nailed the... More

What a treat to be able to walk right in and get a table! Trick is go during the weekday!! I was fortunately in C'ville on business and met my aunt and uncle there. Good coffee, great food, great services. Joy, oh joy! Cash only though.

Looking for a place with a fresh take on old standards, made with fresh local ingredients? This is it! Our party of four only waited twenty minutes, and the place was packed to the rafters. It was well worth it: The brunch menu is inventive, and boy, they love BACON as much as we do! Highly recommend! The Hungry Norman... More

We recently had lunch at the Blue Grass Grill, ( a weekday noontime, not crowded at all) the food is still tasty, a good value for your money, (cash) thou something was missing, which we all realized was Lalah......

We went for brunch on a weekday, and there was no wait. The menu looks like typical diner food -- pancakes, eggs, sausage ... until you see the daily menu. The cook (chef?) has an array of never-before seen combinations of food that would be daring in a big-city restaurant. Had the Hungry Norman, with eggs, English Muffins, sausage links,... More

I reviewed the Bluegrass Grill some years ago, and I slammed it for its archaic and unworkable waiting list. It still has the list posted inside, but the 'hostess" was very nice and kept us informed of our progress and approximate wait time. She even firmly but politely turned aside the rude attempt of some new arrivals to jump in... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant just passing through Charlottesville. We walked in to the place and the first word that came to my mouth was kitsch. With a random assortment of decorations, including but not limited the things you would see at your grandmas house, and with some folding tables with mismatched chairs I was a bit worried.... More
