We stopped by on. A Sunday evening in July (school's out) so it was not busy at all. However, this was a nice change of pace. Service was excellent and friendly. I had a turkey sandwich which was perfectly done and served quickly. My old mug was the ready but we were surprised to find my Founders mug had been... More

This Florida Keys/Caribbean themed hang out has decent food. Somewhat overrun by students at night, it is better enjoyed during the day or early evening. An old favorite with locals and students. Re-opened after a short closing but still seems to be the same old St. Maartens' More of a bar than a restaurant but the food is consistent and... More

Great challenge for trying wings. Not unbearably spicy. But next morning when your cheeks hit the porcelain, you'll then experience a true viking funeral.

Long list of brews...robust and tasty menu....good service. Great place to relax after a hard day of work or travel. When the former owner decided to close and sell this place several years ago, the customers bought it! That should tell you a lot!

Excellent wings of good size with a dozen+ sauces. Like it hot ? Try the Viking Funeral. Milder, go with the Thai. Tues. they have a great wing special, a number of microbrews on tap and they had $1.5 PBR drafts cheap and those help put the fire out. Parking is always tough near the UVA corner, they do validate... More

This bar has been a UVA/Charlottesville staple for almost 30 years. Located on the UVA corner, it draws a mix of UVA students, hospital employees, and locals. They have a great personalized mug program for the regulars. They have great food specials most days of the week - Tuesdays: double wing day, Wednesdays: BBQ sandwich, Thursdays: burgers, etc. Happy hour... More

Two co-workers and I walked into the restaurant at 11:40 am and had the place to ourselves. When we left at 12:35 there was only one other person dining. This used to be one of our favorite lunch places, but if our experience today is typical we understand why no one was there. One of the daily specials was fish... More

If you're trapped in Cville, try st maartens. The key west decor lets you pretend you're not mired in the hole that spawned dave mathews. The drinks were fun and weird, the beer was cheap, and the burgers pretty good. The BEST thing about st maartens though is that there are no windows and no college kids.
