My wife and I had a very nice dining experience at this quaint restaurant. The staff are very welcoming. Food presentation is excellent and very tasty. Little specials along the way from the chef make you feel special. We sat on the second floor and the ceiling tiles and air ducts could use some renovation. But it is not that... More

40th anniversary dinner. First things first -if you like foie gras, this is a destination for you. The foie gras here is as good as anything I have had at Thomas Keller's restaurants (no disrespect intended -TK is fabulous). Nice selection of wine but this is my one complaint - they had no Sauternes on their list. Lovely trout sitting... More

I have been here for wedding receptions, small intimate dinners and group dining, and the Ivy Inn has come through with flying colors every time. The menu changes with the season, so last night we were treated to super, ripe heirloom tomatoes, and a peach crisp that had lovely chunks of fresh ripe peaches. The crab cakes were incredible, and... More

We celebrated our anniversary here and it was made very special by the staff - personalized menu, free glass of champagne. The food was excellent and the service was as well.

What a disappointment! I had heard good things about the Ivy inn from several older friends and decided to give it a try. The place is generally uninspiring and overpriced. It seems to survive off the older wealthy residents of Charlottesville who are unwilling to explore the excellent dining options in the downtown and Belmont area of C'ville. The service... More

Reserved through Open Table, and we were greeted with "Happy Anniversary" by hostess and server, and a glass of champagne when we were seated. At that point, we knew it was the perfect spot. Nice menu, lots of choices. Delicious corn soup, and fresh tomato salad. My husband had the rack of lamb, I had the trout, and both were... More

I was here for a business related dinner. We ate in one of the private dining rooms, which felt just like we were in someone's house. The food was excellent, as was the service. There were so many good sounding things on the menu. I would love to come back again to try some of them.

Unique menu, from local rainbow trout to bison; food perfectly presented; outstanding wine list; upscale foodie experience in small quantities; well trained waiters very attentive, but know when to stay away; exceptional desserts, unique as they are satisfying; mid-week not crowded, so a couple will find the privacy one rarely experiences these days, especially if eating outside on the patio.... Large group wine dinner at Ivy Inn was one great meal. The meal was well planned to accompany the wine. We were greeted with sparkling wine upon arrival. The food was excellent; the service, in spite of a large noisy group was very good. A memorable evening

My husband and I went to the Ivy Inn for our last night in Charlottesville. It was perfect. There was no seating inside, so we sat on the patio. I loved the patio. We ordered the crab and corn soup and squash soup, both were great. We also both ordered the trout, which I recommend. We were full afterwards so... More
